Interview with Marina Mueller, Global Marketing Manager & Sales Coordinator at DrM Group.
A brief description of the company and its activities.
Marina Mueller: Our portfolio includes the renowned FUNDABAC® and CONTIBAC® automatic filtration systems, FUNDAMIX® vibration mixers, and single-use filtration solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech applications. Each solution is customized to meet the specific needs of our customers, helping industries achieve safer, cleaner, and more efficient production through innovative, high-performance equipment.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
M.M: DrM focuses on the design, engineering, and manufacturing of advanced filtration and mixing systems for solid-liquid separation across a wide range of industries. Our main areas of activity include the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech, food and beverage, and environmental sectors, where we support customers in addressing challenging filtration and mixing applications.
We provide end-to-end solutions, from process consulting and pilot testing to the delivery of customized, high-performance equipment, ensuring optimal integration into our clients’ production processes while improving product quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
What’s the news about new products/services?
M.M: DrM has recently launched its FUNDALOOP® Single-Use Filter, bringing a disruptive alternative to the market for biotech and pharmaceutical production. Unlike conventional depth filters or single-use centrifuges, our single-use cyclical cake filtration system enables harvesting in a single step, with 2–3 times higher flow rates per area, up to 90–95% lower filter consumption, and significantly reduced waste and product contact area. This technology provides a scalable, high-yield, and sustainable solution that addresses many of the limitations seen with current single-use clarification methods.

Additionally, we have expanded our FUNDAMIX® Vibro-Mixer offering by delivering complete packaged units, including not only the mixing technology but also all required auxiliary systems and controls, ready for integration into customer production processes. This reduces engineering complexity and ensures faster, smoother implementation for clients looking to optimize their high-purity mixing applications.
What are the ranges of products/services?
M.M: DrM offers a comprehensive range of solutions and services designed to improve efficiency, product quality, and sustainability in industrial processes:
- Filtration: Advanced self-cleaning filtration systems, including FUNDABAC® and CONTIBAC®, providing reliable, automated solid-liquid separation with low maintenance and operational costs.
- Mixing: FUNDAMIX® vibro-mixers and packaged turnkey units, delivering efficient, vortex-free, low-shear mixing with high energy efficiency and easy scalability.
- Single-Use: Innovative single-use filtration and mixing technologies for flexible, sterile processing, reducing cleaning needs and contamination risks in sensitive environments.
- Testing: Pilot and lab-scale filtration and mixing equipment for process validation and optimization, ensuring reliable scale-up and risk reduction before full-scale implementation.
- Engineering Support & Services: Comprehensive engineering support, process consulting, maintenance, and spare parts services, ensuring seamless integration, long-term reliability, and performance of installed systems.
All DrM solutions are customized to fit each customer’s specific process needs.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
M.M: The markets we serve remain active and resilient. In lithium processing and rare earth refining, we see expanding capacity driven by the demand for energy transition and advanced electronics, creating a need for reliable, efficient solid-liquid separation systems.
In biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing, global investments are increasing to expand vaccine, insulin, and advanced therapy production, with many facilities prioritizing process improvements and capacity expansion to meet growing patient needs.
At the same time, tightening regulatory requirements and cost pressures across all sectors are pushing manufacturers to look for technologies that can improve product quality, reduce operational costs, and minimize environmental impact, supporting the adoption of DrM’s filtration, mixing, and single-use solutions.

What can you tell us about market trends?
M.M: Across our industries, we see a clear trend towards sustainable, resource-efficient production. Companies are seeking filtration systems that reduce waste, energy consumption, and water usage, while enabling recovery of valuable materials, such as in lithium and rare earth refining.
In biotech and pharmaceutical markets, the drive for process intensification, flexible manufacturing, and contamination control is accelerating the adoption of single-use technologies for cell harvest and clarification. Additionally, there is growing demand for low-shear, high-purity mixing for applications like insulin production and blood plasma processing.
Digitalization is also shaping customer expectations, with increasing interest in monitoring, automation, and data-driven process optimization to improve yield, quality, and traceability in production environments.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
M.M: Innovation has been at the core of DrM since its founding, from pioneering the FUNDABAC® and CONTIBAC® filtration systems and heel volume filtration, which redefined efficiency in solid-liquid separation, to introducing the FUNDAMIX® vibro-mixer, providing a unique low-shear, vortex-free mixing solution trusted across industries.
Today, we continue this tradition with the FUNDALOOP®, our Single-Use filtration system, delivering a revolutionary alternative to traditional cell harvest methods in biotech by enabling single-step clarification with higher flow rates, lower filter consumption, and reduced waste. We are also expanding our offerings with packaged unit solutions, delivering fully integrated, ready-to-operate filtration and mixing systems that simplify implementation and reduce engineering effort for customers.
At DrM, innovation is not a single event but a continuous commitment to challenging industry standards and expanding possibilities for our customers.

What estimations do you have for the second half of 2025?
M.M: For the second half of 2025, we anticipate continued strong demand for our filtration and mixing systems across the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech, and specialty sectors. In particular, we see stable project activity in battery materials and rare earth refining, driven by the global focus on energy transition, requiring efficient and sustainable solid-liquid separation solutions.
In pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing, we expect customers to continue investing in process improvements and capacity expansions, supporting the need for high-performance filtration and low-shear, energy-efficient mixing technologies.
Internally, we will continue to invest in product and process development, including our Single-Use technologies, in collaboration with academic partners and supported by grants such as Innosuisse funding, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of innovation in filtration and mixing technologies.
Overall, we expect steady, healthy growth, driven by the industry’s ongoing focus on improving efficiency, product quality, and sustainability in production processes.
