Based in Hungary, Ganz Electric is already capable of serving the European market and aims to strengthen its dominance there with its tailor-made products. Moreover, it has already fulfilled overseas orders and hopes to continue doing so in the future.

What’s the news about new products/services?

In 2025, the company announced Ganz2030, a EUR 52 million development program to double its production capacity by the end of the decade and establish a future-proof plant to meet the needs of the European energy market. A new 6,500 m² production hall will increase transformer manufacturing capacity from 10,000 MVA to 20,000 MVA annually. Here we will prioritize the production of Small-Medium Power Transformers (SMPTs), which are essential for stabilizing and distributing energy across various industrial and utility sectors. . The new facility will not only deliver greater output but also improve efficiency by optimizing manufacturing processes. The program will also expand storage capacity, modernize internal logistics, and enhance transformer testing facilities. A new warehouse will support raw material logistics, while insulation production capacity will also be increased.

What are the ranges of products/services?

The company manufactures tailor-made transformers, medium- and high-voltage motors, and synchronous generators and offers related services globally. The Transformer Division specializes in the design, production, and testing of substation transformers, generator transformers, mobile transformers, and traction transformers, with performance ratings from 20 to 600 MVA (and up to 1000 MVA for autotransformers) and voltage ranges from 52 to 800 kV.

The company also manufactures rotating machines: medium- and high-voltage motors and synchronous generators for industrial applications. Engineered for high efficiency, reliability, and extended service life, these machines withstand even the most demanding environments.

In 2022, in cooperation with the German Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, Ganz Electric successfully launched its intelligent digitalization system under the name Ganz Intelligent Solutions. This technology enables early detection and cost-effective elimination of emerging faults, minimizing their impact on power networks and operational continuity. The versatile platform supports real-time monitoring of transformer thermal conditions, chemical analysis of oil, optimized asset utilization, cooling optimization, and preparation for overloads through pre-cooling. Furthermore, these solutions can also be applied to rotating machines, and retrofitting is possible for older equipment as well, thereby strengthening Ganz Electric’s and its clients’ sustainability efforts.

The Service Division offers maintenance, inspection, refurbishment, modernization, and expansion services for medium- and high-voltage motors, synchronous generators, power transformers, and gas-insulated switchgear, including on-site services for equipment manufactured by Ganz Electric or other manufacturers. Through lifecycle extension programs based on condition monitoring systems and a comprehensive portfolio of spare and replacement parts, the company ensures the long-term, reliable, and cost-effective operation of client assets.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

Ganz Electric exports high-voltage transformers to Germany, France, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Romania, and across the Baltic and Scandinavian regions. Its rotating machines are sold globally, with key markets including the United States, Africa, the Middle East, the Philippines, and various European countries. While its service activities focus primarily on the Hungarian market, the company has also carried out major projects in North Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. In recent years, Ganz Electric has significantly expanded sales in Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus region. In the international cement industry, Ganz Electric is especially recognized for its slip-ring and squirrel-cage induction motors, applied in fans, mills, conveyors, and kilns.

What can you tell us about market trends?

The energy sector is undergoing major changes. Growing demand for electricity transmission is a defining trend in the power industry. As countries and industries shift towards sustainable energy solutions, integrating solar power into national grids requires improved infrastructure and increased transmission capacity. Additionally, the increase in data centres requires substantial electrical support for efficient operation. As demand cannot always be met with new machines, maintenance and servicing are becoming increasingly important, and digital systems offer many opportunities and benefits in terms of both machine maintenance and sustainability.

We have strategically positioned Ganz Electric to increase our manufacturing capacity and focus on producing high-voltage electrical equipment in response to the evolving needs of the market. Meanwhile, our Service Division carries out planned, corrective, preventive and condition-based maintenance. Depending on the complexity of the refurbishment, the lifespan of the refurbished machines can be extended by 10–15 years. We have also established a testing laboratory at our facility to advance the maintenance of our own equipment and provide testing services to other companies.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

The most innovative solutions we currently market are Ganz Intelligent Solutions and the Ganz Expert System. Ganz Intelligent Solutions is our digitalization brand designed to support both new and ageing electrical assets: transformers and electric rotating machines such as motors and generators. By combining predictive maintenance strategies with retrofit digital applications, customers gain a cost-effective way to manage ageing fleets. Early identification and planned intervention help prevent critical failures, reduce overall failure rates, and lower maintenance costs without disrupting operations.

Ganz Expert System, launched in 2024, represents the next step in asset management. Unlike common monitoring systems that only collect and store data, the Expert System uses artificial intelligence, advanced algorithms, and comprehensive databases to interpret and evaluate asset conditions. It integrates online monitoring data with diagnostic and offline measurements, enabling detailed assessments, comparative fleet analysis, and prioritization of interventions based on criticality. This paves the way for condition- and reliability-based maintenance strategies.

Both solutions can be retrofitted to existing assets, regardless of brand or providing a fast and reliable alternative to procuring new units in a market where lead times are often long. Together, they strengthen energy security, improve operational reliability, and embody Ganz Electric’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

What estimations do you have for the end of 2025?

By the end of 2025, we can highlight several important achievements. This year marked the official launch of the GANZ 2030 programme, which has already begun to strengthen the company’s long-term strategic position. The ongoing spread of electrification continues to generate steady orders across our divisions, ensuring a robust pipeline of projects.

According to the company’s 2024 financial report, Ganz closed its third consecutive record year, with 42.34% of total income derived from export markets. This achievement reflects both strong domestic demand and the company’s expanding international presence. Based on the current outlook, even greater revenue growth is forecast for 2025. Looking ahead, we expect further expansion in 2026, supported not only by favorable market trends but also by our active recruitment initiatives. These efforts will increase the workforce by at least 200 employees by the end of the decade, further strengthening the company’s long-term position.

Strategically, 2026 will be another milestone year, as the investment in the rotating machine factory will be completed.
