ATEsystem designs and builds systems for visual inspection and machine vision, distributes cutting-edge cameras and components from world-class manufacturers.
Interview with Filip Volný, Head of Sales at ATEsystem.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Filip Volný: We offer complex services in machine vision and camera systems, supplying components made by the world’s leading manufacturers. Thanks to our unique know-how and experience, our experts can design tailor-made solutions.
Our services and solutions have been successful for almost 10 years. We develop our own machine vision tools, but also supply camera components made by all the world’s leading manufacturers. We provide tests and feasibility studies, camera loans and solutions consulting. As part of our complex services, we provide our clients with information about the functioning of computer vision and image processing.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
F.V: Machine vision is continuously moving forward. We can talk about improving mainstream components – sugar cube cameras have better resolution, speed etc. But also, we can see new principles or technologies in automation which we have never seen before. For example, very precise 3D measurement, hyperspectral camera, polarized cameras, IR camera or high speed line scan cameras.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
F.V: Our product line-up is diverse, spanning from pristine environments such as semiconductor facilities, through the food processing industry, to more rugged settings like ironworks. Across these varied applications, our products consistently deliver reliable and stable performance.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
F.V: The market we operate in is well-established and shows promising potential for introducing advanced, high-end technologies. Additionally, the presence of numerous manufacturers of end-products signals a healthy and robust market environment.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
F.V: A notable trend is the labor shortage, prompting companies to increase automation within their production processes. Our role is to support this transition towards greater automation.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
F.V: Our most groundbreaking product is the hyperspectral camera, which is revolutionizing machine vision across industries. Its typical uses include sorting systems for waste management, food processing, and recycling plastics, among others.
E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2023?
F.V: While the timeframe is relatively short, historically, the fourth quarter is robust as many projects aim for completion before year-end. We anticipate this trend to continue through the rest of the year.
