BUDGET-FRIENDLY: HOW DO JATI’S PRODUCTS/SOLUTIONS DRIVE BUDGET SAVINGS FOR CLIENTS?

JATI is an owner-managed family business that stands for well-thought-out chemical-technical solutions in the field of mould and fire damage remediation. Their roots go back to the 1980s – in two separate but closely related stories that united in 2019 to a strong brand: JATI GmbH under the direction of graduate chemist Guido Beckmann.

Interview with Olga Osterrieder, Marketing Lead at JATI.

How do your products or solutions help clients lower their overall operating costs?

Olga Osterrieder: Our approach “Disinfection instead of removal” avoids unnecessary demolition and reconstruction. Using JATI disinfection foams and flushing procedures, clients -most of them remediation companies – can preserve existing building structures instead of replacing them. This leads to significant savings in labor, material, disposal, and reconstruction costs – while also ensuring hygienic safety.

In what ways do you contribute to improving efficiency or productivity for your clients?
O.O:
Our products and application methods enable remediation companies to complete projects more quickly and with fewer steps. Disinfection measures can be carried out directly, without preparation for demolition or reconstruction. This not only accelerates the entire workflow but also frees up resources, so teams can take on additional projects within the same time frame.

How do you help clients reduce energy, material, or resource consumption?

O.O: By avoiding demolition work, we avoid energy-intensive processes such as rubble disposal, new material purchases and deliveries. Instead, existing structures are preserved. This reduces raw material consumption, lowers CO₂ emissions by more than 99% compared to conventional methods, and promotes sustainable resource use.

What technical characteristics in your solutions reduce maintenance or lifecycle costs?

O.O: Our formulations are long-lasting, safe to use, and designed for deep penetration into building structures. This ensures reliable results and allows projects to be completed faster and with fewer personnel resources. For remediation companies, this means less time spent per project and the opportunity to allocate staff to additional jobs. In the long term, this improves cost efficiency and reduces overall lifecycle costs.

How do you support clients in minimizing downtime or production interruptions?

O.O: Because we disinfect instead of tearing out, buildings and facilities can often remain in use during treatment. Downtime is reduced to a minimum, and in many cases, properties can be re-used much faster compared to traditional remediation methods.

In what ways do your solutions simplify processes and reduce further costs?

O.O: With our system approach, renovation companies work with fewer contractors and avoid complex, multi-stage renovations. The process becomes more predictable, shorter, and easier to manage. This simplification reduces administrative effort and hidden costs.

Another party that benefits from these lower costs is insurers.

How do your technologies enable clients to scale operations in a cost-effective way?

O.O: Our methods are standardized and scalable – from small residential cases to large commercial buildings. This flexibility allows clients to use the same approach across different project sizes, saving training and implementation costs.

How do you help clients meet regulatory or sustainability requirements without excessive costs?

O.O: Our solutions are developed in accordance with European standards for hygiene and building safety, and we are pioneers in the implementation of the EU Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR). At the same time, our methods directly support sustainability goals such as resource conservation and CO₂ reduction. This combination enables our customers to meet both legal obligations and environmental requirements in a cost-effective manner.

What role does automation or digitalization play in cost savings for your clients?

O.O: For remediation companies, standardized workflows and digital documentation make projects easier to handle. Application steps, safety measures, and results can be recorded quickly and transparently. This reduces administrative work, ensures regulatory compliance, and saves valuable time. Furthermore, for insurers, the digital records provide clear, verifiable documentation of the remediation process. This transparency speeds up claims handling, minimizes disputes, and helps reduce overall project costs.

Can you share a concrete example where your solutions generated measurable budget savings?

O.O: After flooding in a multi-family housing complex, the conventional method would have required removing floor screeds, insulating layers, and rebuilding – costing both material and time. Using JATI disinfection foam and flushing procedures, the building fabric was preserved. The result: CO₂ savings of over 99%, significant reduction in disposal costs, and re-occupancy weeks earlier.
