Désirée, that has been acquired in 1995 by Gruppo Euromobil, has its own company showroom based in Falzé di Piave in the Veneto region of Italy. Immediately the company distinguished itself as the brand able to best combine the concepts of tailoring and technological innovation, design and functionality.
The company proposes customers an offer that combines industrial know-how with the handcrafted quality of made in Italy. The rich parterre of designers who have accompanied Désirée over the years has also made the company stand out for its heterogeneity and capacity for differentiation.
Interview with Luigi Lucchetta, Product Manager of Désirée.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Luigi Lucchetta: Désirée is specialised in the production of upholstered furniture, such as sofas, armchairs and beds. We advance proposals every year that are increasingly capable of interpreting the needs of the public. All the upholstered furniture is inspired by the “Home soft home” philosophy and has the ability to convey emotions through the great quality of the materials used and the attention to detail in their production. That is why we use natural, eco-compatible raw materials such as wood, metal and leather, all of which are recyclable.
E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?
L.L: At the next Salone del Mobile in Milan, we will bring a new sofa designed by Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez, whose peculiarities will also concern the ecological and sustainable aspect, topics that we really care about. In fact, a new generation photovoltaic system was also inaugurated in November. Gruppo Euromobil, the brand to which Désirée belongs, supports a policy of environmental and social responsibility, thus demonstrating our increasingly active participation in the field.
E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?
L.L: We are specialized in the production of upholstery furniture, such as sofas, armchairs and beds, but we also produce other kind of products, mainly rugs, coffee tables, chairs or desks.
In fact, in 2023 we presented a special project related to the world of complements: a collection consisting of table and chair, called Ciàcola, designed by the great master of design Tobia Scarpa. In addition to being great admirers of his work, we are also particularly attached to him being connected to our territory, the Veneto region.
E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
L.L: We are very active in the furniture and design field. We are also very connected to the world of art and sports.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
L.L: Customers are increasingly looking for sustainable and versatile products.
They prefer natural materials, with easy recycling options at the end of the product’s life and products that can adapt to multiple situations (e.g., backrests that can be moved or objects that can stay both inside and outside depending on the occasions of use).
E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
L.L: Désirée’s most innovative services are the NFC labels, which guarantee the authenticity of the product as well as containing all the technical specifications and any assembly or removal instructions. From the label it is also possible to activate the procedure to extend the warranty up to 5 years.
Few days ago, a CONFIGURATOR system has been launched and now it’s available on the company’s website, with which the customer can build his product and choose the finishes.
Désirée’s most innovative products over the years has been the evolution of the MONOPOLI sofa, designed by Marc Sadler, with movable backrests and armrests.
E.E: What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2024?
L.L: Désirée expects to confirm with a slight increase last year’s result. The world situation is challenging, but there are growing markets, such as the American and Middle Eastern markets, which are well attended and from which an increase is expected.
