EasyStrap Packaging develops and manufactures back-friendly and ergonomic pallet strapping machines. Headquarters are located in Munich Germany. R&D, assembly and service operations are centrally located in the Hanover region in Germany. The company also provides local maintenance and repair services in all countries that they sell machines to.
Interview with Michael Holzgethan, Founder & CEO of EasyStrap Packaging GmbH.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Michael Holzgethan: Conventional load unit securing of goods on a pallet with plastic strap requires the employee to bend down twice and walk around the pallet once for every strapping. 100 strapped pallets per day mean that he needs to bend down 50.000 times per year and walk around the pallet 25.000 times per year. Strapping is thus an activity that causes significant harm to the back and knees.
A recent study conducted in 2024 by Germany’s largest healthcare provider shows that sick days due to back pain have risen to 2,8 days per employee per year. This represents a further increase by 7%, as compared to the previous year. Musculoskeletal disorders including back pain are thus among the leading causes for sick days, especially in physically demanding jobs.
Our ergonomic, mobile and flexible EasyStrap ES-200 pallet wrapping machine reduces bending down and walking around the pallet to 0. It helps retaining the operator’s health and well-being and significantly reduces sick days and absenteeism.
All type of goods that are stored and shipped on a pallet need to be secured to avoid injury and accidents. According to CMR, the shipper is always responsible and liable for any damage due to inadequate securing of load units. With the ES-200 strapping machine, our customers can achieve a consistent and high-quality sealing process, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and injuries and being made liable for damages.
Last of all, the time required for strapping a pallet can be decreased by up to 50% as compared to conventional strapping with clamp and ratchet.

What’s the news about new products/services?
M.H: EasyStrap is currently expanding its operations to Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy. Not only do we offer free on-site demos of the machine with no obligation in those markets, but we have also established local service and repair operations here.
What are the ranges of products/services?
M.H: Ergonomic, flexible and mobile pallet strapping machines, sealing tools, plastic strap and service operations.
Our ES-200 allows our customers to semi-automatically strap their products on a pallet with a height of up to 2,60m and a width of up to 2,25m (use cases). The machine offers full flexibility and can use both PET- and PP-strap. It is mobile and easy to move to the packaging station. This eliminates the risk of injuries and accidents when unsecured goods are for example moved on a forklift.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
M.H: Business in Germany continues to slow down, but demand for ergonomic products remains stable, especially with larger mid-cap companies and corporations.
EasyStrap is currently expanding its operations to Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy. Here we see a mix of mid-cap companies and corporations that are focusing on providing an ergonomic work environment and state-of-the-art tools to their employees.

What can you tell us about market trends?
M.H: We see a continuously increasing importance of ergonomic solutions in logistics, warehousing and dispatch. As the generation of baby boomers retires, it becomes increasingly difficult for our customers to recruit new personnel. Young employees are unwilling to perform physically strenuous and health-damaging activities. Our ES-200 pallet strapping machine helps customers to offer an ergonomic and state-of-the art work environment which helps them attract, recruit and retain personnel.
What estimations do you have for the end of 2025?
M.H: We are facing strong demand during this year’s end season and are content with our sales in 2025.
