Get3D implements solutions for industry (mainly for the automotive, aviation and military industries) and the educational sector. It has both an online store and a stationary store, which also has a showroom with 3D printers.

The company also offers custom 3D printing services from metal and polymer materials.

Interview with Joanna Taczała – Warga, Marketing Specialist at get3D.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Joanna Taczała – Warga: get3D has been on the market for more than 8 years and is based in Poland at Wigury 21 Street in Łódź. Our company implements solutions for industry (mainly for the automotive, aviation and military) and the education sector. We have both an online and stationary store, which also has a showroom.

Employees are experts in 3D printing, materials, and supplied equipment. Thanks to this, get3D can provide professional advice, training in the use of devices, warranty and post-warranty service at the highest level. We don’t just support large businesses and research centers but also private.

The get3D offer includes 3D printers from the best manufacturers along with the corresponding filaments and UV resins, a 3D scanner, and thermoforming devices.

Custom 3D printing services for metal and polymer materials are also offered by the company.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

J.T.W: We sell 3D printing equipment and auxiliary devices. We provide a full range of services: from consulting, through preparing offers, importing products on special order, training, installation of equipment, assistance, sale of materials (filaments, resins, powders), accessories and parts, as well as warranty and post-warranty service.

In addition, we promote 3D printing by organizing workshops, participating in events, writing articles and informing about news on our social media. Customers can also find guides and instructions.

Our employees are educated specialists in the field of 3D printing, scanning and 3D modeling, who also have experience in research. Thanks to this, we can provide our customers with a full range of services.

What’s the news about new products/services?

J.T.W: Recently, we have greatly expanded the scope of our services so that customers from every industry can choose something for themselves.

New products in our range include, for e.g. resin 3D printers. Photocentric devices deserve special attention, because one of them is the Liquid Crystal Titan printer, which is the largest LCD device in the world. By choosing it or the smaller version – Liquid Crystal Magna, users can produce large resin elements or a wholesale amount of smaller prints.

Another novelty is the SLS printers from the Polish company Sinterit: Lisa X and Nils 480. The exceptional quality of the entire system in European standards is truly impressive. As is the detail of the prints themselves.

For industry, we recommend the latest printer from UltiMaker, Factor 4. This device is characterized by a modular design, which significantly reduces downtime in production and the time needed for potential repairs.

I am most impressed by large-format printers. We presented prints from the Massivit series at the International Comics and Games Festival and the Promised Land Art Festival. This equipment is used in the maritime, film, rail and advertising industries.

What are the ranges of products/services?

J.T.W: We provide every possible printing technology. Our offer includes FFF 3D printers, also called FDM, which print from polymers material taken from a spool. It is also possible to print from metal using this technology. Then it is necessary to expand the 3D printer with a special module (Ultimaker Metal Expansion Kit) and use metal filaments (e.g. BASF Ultrafuse 17-4PH).

Another method is SLA printing – using liquid resin and curing it. The printouts are very precise. Such methods are used, e.g. in dentistry, medicine or in the production of decorative figurines.

Our offer also includes 3D powder printing of polymers and metal (Desktop Metal systems). Thanks to this method, you can achieve, closed metal structures that are empty inside, or with reduced weight compared to cast or CNC-processed elements.

Additional products that we provide are various auxiliary machines, such as thermoforming devices and a 3D scanner (Shining 3D EinStar). We also provide accessories, such as filament dryers, washers, ovens… We also supply appropriate chemicals (e.g. Magigoo glues) and spare parts. Thanks to this, our customers can fully equip their laboratory.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

J.T.W: The 3D printer is already a basic device when it comes to industry. We have a lot of loyal customers (from Poland and abroad), to whom we regularly supply material and 3D printers to expand their laboratory.

Our clients are rather aware of the 3D printing process, because they have entire teams that deal with 3D modeling and test their printouts. When it comes to smaller businesses, lack of skills of 3D modeling still stands in the way of expanding their company with additive devices. That is why we try to educate in this area and inform about the possibilities of downloading ready files.

Much less awareness of the simplicity of printing is in the case of private users. Many people encounter this technology for the first time during our workshops or events. And they are surprised how easy 3D printing is today. Manufacturers are also trying very hard to provide new facilities and automatic software. The best example is the Maker World portal from Bambu Lab. On this website customers can find ready-made 3D models and STL model generators. Repairing this type of printer is also very simple. That is why the manufacturer has provided an entire knowledge base, which we have translated into Polish.

What can you tell us about market trends?

J.T.W: There is a certain crisis now and customers are turning into much cheaper products. Such products are provided by manufacturers from China. However, it must be admitted that these are very good quality devices.

Currently, devices from China, such as Bambu Lab printers, are setting trends. These printers are simply unmatched in terms of printing speed. Additionally, it is possible to print up to 16 colors! The prints also have extraordinary accuracy, and the entire system is very simple to use. For this reason, also companies are increasingly deciding to buy these printers. One of the recommended models for industry is Bambu Lab X1E Combo.

However, there are industries that are currently loyal to devices manufactured in Europe and the US. An example is medicine. Hospitals and research institutions must use materials that have the appropriate certificates and levels of biocompatibility.

These types of specialist filaments (e.g. Kimya, BASF Forward AM) and resins (formlabs) must be processed in the right conditions. And not all 3D printing devices provide the required parameters. Most often, customers decide to buy miniFactory for this purpose.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

J.T.W: I think that these will be Bambu Lab printers, due to their speed, but also: miniFactory Ignite (large working area and the ability to print from specialist materials), Photocentric Liquid Crystal Titan (large working area and extraordinary resolution) and Massivit 10000 (large-format printer and the ability to work with two different materials).

As for accessories, it will be the Polymaker PolyDryer filament dryer, which allows to safely store filament spools and protect them from the environment.

A very innovative solution that can be used with 3D printing is also the Mayku Multiplier pressure thermoforming machine. This is a device completely different from all others. It is a modern, pressure-molding machine of industrial class. It allows to produce precise molds, parts and final elements. The built-in compressor makes the manufactured elements achieve a quality comparable to injection molding.

What estimations do you have for the rest of 2024?

J.T.W: The end of the year is primarily about increased sales, summarizing all marketing activities and planning for the next year. We already know that the manufacturers of our devices are planning interesting new products which will be available for purchase in our store.

In this year we participated in two major festivals. Our stand was very popular, so this success has led us to plan to participate in some nationwide festivals next year. We also plan to join in some industry expos to show manufacturers from other industries that they too can use 3D printing to significantly facilitate production and prototyping.

We will certainly also be actively informing about the advantages of the Mayku Multiplier thermoformer in dental laboratories, because the manufacturer recently released accessories designed specifically for dentistry.
