Interview with Rainer Dörr, Founder & Managing Director at Dörr Group
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Rainer Dörr: Our success is based on the sale and support of supercars at six locations across Germany. Another key component is the over 60 events organized internally for our customers and friends of supercars. Additionally, we operate our own racing team – Dörr Motorsport – which is active in the DTM, customer sports, and endurance races at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. New this year are our activities in two-wheel motorsport with Triumph in the German Motocross Championship. We are also particularly passionate about our commitment to supporting young talent, which we have been actively promoting for years through our own kart team.
What’s the news about new products/services?
R.D: One of our latest highlights is the exclusive and limited “Dörr Motorsport DTM Edition” of the McLaren 750S, available as both a Coupe and a Spider. I´m also excited to announce that F1 and DTM legend and Sky F1 expert Timo Glock will race for Dörr Motorsport starting in the 2025 season. The driver lineup, with Timo Glock as an experienced professional and my son Ben as a McLaren Pro Junior Driver, is especially significant to me as both a team principal and a father. Another milestone is the opening of our Aston Martin showroom in Düsseldorf in march, which establishes our sixth location in Germany.
What are the ranges of products/services?
R.D: Our core business focuses on the sale of supercars. In addition to a first-class workshop services, we also offer our exclusive “Racing Driver for a Day” program, where our customers can benefit from our extensive motorsport expertise since 25 years – an experience like no other. Furthermore, it is a personal priority for me to organize tailor-made events for our customers, designed to further ignite and intensify their passion for sports cars and motorsport.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
R.D: In an environment that deals with very exclusive sports cars, our customers are, in most cases, less affected by economic fluctuations. However, even we have noticed a slightly more tense market over the past two years and hope for more stability in the future. One advantage we have is that we can offer a very wide range of products with 15 exclusive brands

What can you tell us about market trends?
R.D: Electrification is naturally advancing in the supercar segment as well. A good example is Lamborghini, which has hybridized its entire product range with the Lamborghini Temerario. McLaren is also showing that electric motors are increasingly being integrated to enable additional performance. This is evident in the McLaren Artura and the recently unveiled McLaren W1. These developments are exciting because they demonstrate how tradition and innovation can be united in the supercar segment.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
R.D: From my perspective, special models like the McLaren W1 and the Aston Martin Valhalla are particularly innovative. Both vehicles are at the icons of their brands in terms of performance and everyday usability. I am also impressed by the Bugatti Tourbillon, the successor to the legendary Bugatti Chiron. With its revolutionary V16 engine, it sets new standards and introduces technology that has never been seen before. Moreover, these vehicles are particularly sustainable, as they are typically kept for a very long time and have a high appreciation in value
What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2025?
R.D: Looking ahead to the future, especially for 2025, I am confident about a general market recovery in Germany, excited for new, emotional sports car models, and looking forward to spending time with our customers at exciting and unique events. In motorsport, we also have ambitious plans: As the only team in DTM history, we will be starting with two McLarens. With our driver lineup, a highly motivated team, and the experience from last season, I am firmly convinced that we are heading into a promising season.
