What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
K.Y: The 3D vision technology market is currently experiencing rapid growth and change, driven by technological advancements, growing demand from various industries, and increasing popularity of digital solutions. Companies are moving away from traditional methods of physical measurement and modeling to digital solutions that are more accurate, faster, and flexible. The ability to seamlessly integrate 3D scanning into existing digital workflows is enabling companies to optimize design processes, reduce costs and improve product quality.
At the same time, the 3D vision market is being significantly impacted by continued technological innovation. New scanning technologies, such as multi-source scanning, photogrammetry and advanced data processing algorithms, are improving the accuracy, speed and ease of use of 3D scanners. These innovations are making 3D scanning accessible to a wider range of users, from small and medium-sized businesses to large industrial enterprises. Wireless capabilities, portable scanners and real-time data processing are also enhancing the user experience and expanding the range of potential applications for 3D scanning.
What can you tell us about market trends?
K.Y: Looking ahead, as industries increasingly embrace digitalization and intelligent solutions, the market for high-accuracy 3D vision technology is set to expand dramatically. The potential for innovation is limitless, with applications growing across larger and more diverse sectors.
In particular, the landscape of precision manufacturing is undergoing a transformation. Inspection processes are shifting from low-frequency, sample-based checks to high-frequency, full inspections. These inspections, once confined to the final stages of production, are now being integrated into every phase of the manufacturing process. This evolution will shift quality control from being solely result-oriented to focusing on source and process-oriented control. As a result, intelligent inspection systems will not only enhance product quality and efficiency but also minimize waste, driving substantial improvements in overall production.
Beyond manufacturing, the opportunities for 3D digitization are vast. Companies specializing in high-accuracy 3D vision technology will face significant challenges as they evolve to meet current user needs. More importantly, they must also pioneer new application scenarios to stay ahead of emerging demands and anticipate future industry shifts. The key to success will be the ability to lead innovation and create new solutions that extend the capabilities of 3D digitization beyond traditional applications.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
K.Y: We have developed binocular photogrammetry technology that eliminates the need for coded markers, lowering the user’s operational threshold while ensuring global-level dimensional accuracy. This innovative technology is featured in our metrology-grade 3D scanners, such as the FreeScan UE Pro2, as well as in the Aoralscan Elite dental scanner, significantly enhancing scan accuracy, especially for full arch implant cases.
In response to growing demand for more compact, lightweight scanners, we’ve integrated the processing unit and battery directly into the EinScan Libre and EINSTAR VEGA 3D scanners, enabling complete scanning operations without the need for an external computer. This ensures truly wireless scanning anytime, anywhere.
Additionally, we have addressed the long-standing issue of marker usage in 3D scanning.
