J SYSTEMS, SPECIALIZED MANUFACTURER OF PHOTOVOLTAIC MOUNTING STRUCTURES

J Systems is a specialized manufacturer of photovoltaic mounting structures made of high-strength Zn-Al-Mg steel. The company provides complete solutions for residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural applications, ensuring reliability, safety and long service life for solar projects. Over years, J-system has built up a solid reputation in Taiwan and Japan. And they are now extending their foodprint in European market.

Interview with Cristian CROITORU, Business Development Representative at J Systems.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Cristian CROITORU: J Systems develops and produces mounting solutions for solar panels, serving a wide range of applications from rooftops to large-scale ground projects. The company comes from a strong EPC background, having carried out EPC activities between 2008 and 2016. This long experience in project development and installation has been fully transferred into the design and production of our mounting brackets. As a result, our products are not only structurally reliable, but also optimized from an installer’s perspective, with designs focused on construction efficiency, ease of assembly and long-term performance.

Is there any difference between the European market and the markets in Taiwan and Japan?

C.C: Yes, there are clear differences. Taiwan, for example, faces much tougher natural challenges such as frequent storms, heavy rainfall and typhoons. These conditions have pushed us to design mounting structures with higher durability and reliability standards, capable of withstanding extreme weather. Japan has also been a demanding market, with strict regulations and quality requirements.

Thanks to this experience, J Systems is now able to provide European clients with highly efficient technical solutions that are not only easy to install but also resilient to the increasing challenges brought by climate change, such as stronger storms and unexpected weather patterns. This transfer of know-how ensures that our European products meet the highest standards of safety and long-term performance.

What are the ranges of products/services?

C.C: J Systems offers one of the most complete portfolios of photovoltaic mounting solutions. Our systems cover the full spectrum of applications:

  • Flat concrete roofs – reliable structures designed for stability and easy installation;
  • Pitched metal and tile roofs – optimized solutions that combine safety with an elegant integration of the panels;
  • Ground-mounted systems – flexible and scalable, suitable for projects of any size;
  • Greenhouse and agrivoltaic systems – innovative structures that merge clean energy with agricultural productivity;
  • Solar fences and solar trackers – solutions that combine functionality, space efficiency and energy optimization;
  • Carports – structures that offer both vehicle protection and electricity generation.

This broad range allows J Systems to adapt to very different client needs – from residential to industrial and from agriculture to smart city projects – always with the same focus on durability, safety and innovation.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

C.C: The photovoltaic market in Europe is in a dynamic phase of expansion, supported by clear policies at EU level and by a strong interest from both the public and private sectors in clean energy. Rising electricity costs, together with the goal of reducing dependence on fossil fuels, have accelerated investments in solar projects across the continent.

In addition to traditional residential and industrial installations, we are witnessing a growing demand for innovative applications such as agrivoltaic systems and solar greenhouses, which enable a dual use of land and contribute to food security. This diversification shows that the market is no longer looking only for energy efficiency, but also for solutions that integrate renewable energy into everyday life, agriculture and urban infrastructure.

For J Systems, this creates a favorable environment where our broad product portfolio can address different needs, from rooftop projects to large-scale agricultural and community solutions.

What can you tell us about market trends?

C.C: There are several strong trends shaping the photovoltaic market today:

  • Efficient installation: Labor cost is increasing everywhere, and efficiency on site is becoming a key factor. J Systems designs its mounting structures from an EPC and installation perspective, which means our products are optimized for faster assembly, reduced labor requirements and overall lower project costs.
  • Long-term durability: Climate conditions are becoming more demanding, and mounting structures must be designed for strength and reliability over many years of operation. Based on our experience in challenging environments such as Taiwan and Japan, J Systems applies the same high standards to ensure that our solutions remain solid, safe and durable over time.
  • Agrivoltaics: Another significant trend is the integration of solar installations with agriculture, allowing dual use of land for both food and energy production. Agrivoltaics not only increases land efficiency, but also protects crops, creates a more stable microclimate and preserves valuable farmland. However, these structures are high-rise and exposed in open fields, which makes their stability crucial. Here, J Systems brings rich expertise developed in environments with frequent typhoons, earthquakes and high-corrosion conditions, offering robust and secure solutions tailored to these challenges.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

C.C: Innovation at J Systems is reflected in the way we design our structures: modular, easy to install and adaptable to projects of any size, from small rooftops to large agricultural parks. This flexibility reduces installation time and costs, while giving clients the confidence that their system can evolve together with their energy needs.

Another distinctive innovation is the use of anti-loosening clamps. Although they may seem like a small detail, in practice they make a huge difference. These clamps guarantee the stability and safety of the installation even under demanding conditions of wind and snow, eliminating the risk of long-term weakening. For our clients, this translates into durability, lower maintenance and trust in the system’s reliability.

By focusing on both design and details, J Systems brings innovations that are practical, visible in everyday use and that directly increase the value of solar investments.

What estimations do you have for the second half of 2025?

C.C: We expect the photovoltaic sector to continue its upward trend across Europe, with increasing demand for both traditional rooftop and ground-mounted projects, as well as for innovative applications such as agrivoltaics. For J Systems, the second half of 2025 will be dedicated to consolidating our presence on the European market, strengthening partnerships and delivering tailored solutions that answer the diverse needs of clients.

Our main growth focus will be on agrivoltaic structures, a segment where we see enormous potential and where we can bring significant added value through our expertise and product reliability. At the same time, we will continue to develop our portfolio in other areas, ensuring that J Systems remains a trusted partner for solar projects of any size, anywhere in Europe.
