Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Justin Saw: Logistex main areas of focus include Solution Design, Implementation and Ongoing support for automated projects. Logistex also use Simulation and Emulation to support our design process. Our Warehouse Execution System (WES) Reflex manages software manages inventory as well as orchestrating the physical flow if products in real time. In addition, this Logistex provides Engineering Support Services offering either Residential or Mobile Support with 24/7 Hotline.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
J.S: The newest technologies we offer is in relation to Robotics which creates opportunities across all sectors. We are currently developing a cross docking picking solution using Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR’s) for a Supermarket’s pallet based dairy products as well as a traditional tote-based eCommerce fulfillment solutions for a leading retailer that utilizes multiple robotic technologies.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
J.S: Logistex do not manufacture hardware so enjoy the freedom to source best in class technology to optimize any solution. We therefore have no limitations as to the technologies we can offer, but do have a range of partnerships in place with OEM’s to ensure we can provide our customers with the optimum solution.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
J.S: Logistex operate throughout a wide range of markets from more mature end of line bulk storage and retrieval solutions to Robotic picking solutions which are continually evolving. The ongoing challenges surrounding availability of labour and the rising costs of employment with attract returns on investments are leading customers to increasingly look at automation.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
J.S: 60% of business plan to invest in new equipment or upgrade existing systems within the next 12 months. The market for warehouse automation is currently estimated to be £2.5billion with additional growth to £3.9m to 2025.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
J.S: Logistex have completed a number of industry firsts within our market particularly within Robotics and within an online Pharmacy where we automated the dispensing, labelling and checking process for patient prescriptions. A selection of our projects can be seen on our website.
