MSV ELEKTRONIKA DELIVERS CUSTOM ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR RAIL AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

MSV elektronika s.r.o. is a Czech technology company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and supply of electronic systems and components for railway vehicles. By combining in-house research, development, testing, and production, the company delivers reliable and safety-critical solutions that support modern and sustainable rail transport.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Our core activities focus on control and operating systems for rolling stock, passenger information systems, door and brake control, exterior LED lighting, and vehicle monitoring solutions. We are also an implementer of the European Train Control System (ETCS) and provide complete electrical engineering services, including switchboards, control panels, cable harnesses, and system integration. With our modern testing laboratory and installation hall, we are able to validate and deploy technologies directly on railway vehicles.

What’s the news about new products/services?

One of our key recent milestones is the successful implementation of ETCS technology, strengthening our position in safety-critical railway systems. We continue to expand our testing capabilities through our advanced laboratory, allowing us to meet demanding international standards. Additionally, we are developing new-generation electronic control units and lighting systems designed to improve operational efficiency, safety, and passenger comfort while supporting the digitalization of rail transport.

What are the ranges of products/services?

Our portfolio covers a wide spectrum of electronic solutions for rail vehicles, from standalone components to fully integrated systems. This includes train control and management systems, door and WC control, brake control, passenger information systems, LED lighting, energy measurement and diagnostics, as well as complete electrical equipment design and production. Beyond manufacturing, we support our customers throughout the entire lifecycle of a project — from engineering and testing to installation and long-term service.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

The market for electronics for rail vehicles is growing, with many new units being manufactured and, at the same time, extensive modernization projects of existing vehicles taking place. ETCS projects and retrofit installations are particularly important for us, as they are a direct consequence of increasing requirements for safety, reliability and passenger comfort. We believe in further growth, because in the recent period we have significantly strengthened our acquisition activities abroad, which supports our growing share in foreign markets.

What can you tell us about market trends?

The rail market is seeing strong investment in new rolling stock and large‑scale modernization programmes, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, where operators are upgrading fleets and infrastructure to meet European standards. A key trend is the accelerated rollout of ETCS and wider signalling digitalization, which has evolved from a pure technical upgrade into a strategic transformation affecting vehicles, infrastructure and operations, and is increasingly in full execution phase towards 2026.

For suppliers of vehicle electronics, this creates long‑term demand for ETCS retrofits, onboard integration, control systems and safety‑critical modules, as well as smart door, HVAC and diagnostic solutions. At the same time, operators are focusing more on passenger experience, which drives interest in modern interior and exterior LED lighting, passenger information systems and energy‑efficient components that support both comfort and sustainability goals.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

Among the most innovative products we include the development of design LED luminaires in cooperation with Škoda Group, including the new BKS25 luminaire – a high‑performance, reliable and design‑attractive light for modern rail vehicles. The new MR2 ModuRail control system represents a modern solution for vehicle control and diagnostics, suitable both for new vehicles and for retrofit projects. In addition, we offer a wide range of other products and services, such as control and operating units and modules for doors, water management systems, WSP modules for brakes, software modifications and development, keyboards, exterior and interior luminaires and much more – all for new units and locomotives as well as for the modernization of existing fleets.

What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2026?

At the beginning of 2026, we expect continued growth of foreign trade, especially in projects in Central and Eastern Europe, supported by strengthened international business activities. We anticipate continued ETCS installations and retrofits in cooperation with AŽD, where we provide on‑board electronics, integration and related systems. We also expect continued deliveries for CZ LOKO (control systems, software modifications and other components) and for Škoda Group, including the finalization of projects for keyboards and luminaires and the subsequent series deliveries. We also have other projects contracted in various areas, both for Czech and Slovak customers and for foreign partners, so we currently assess the development of the year positively.
