SOLECOOLER – INSPIRED BY NATURE, ACTIVATED BY YOUR FEET

Solecooler develops, designs and markets innovative foot comfort technologies using movement as the only source of energy. The first product they’ve developed is Climfeet, a reversible insole capable of producing both cold and heat.

Interview with Romain Deixonne, CMO at Solecooler.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

Romain Deixonne: At the next CES in Las Vegas in January 2024, we’ll be unveiling the prototype born of our latest R&D studies: Warnfeet. A predictive insole to counter certain pathologies.

These innovations, sometimes referred to as “breakthroughs”, are certainly the fruit of a deep-seated desire for invention and a passion for research and technology, but they are also the result of a simpler desire: to put knowledge and technology at the service of solutions that improve everyday life. These motivations and values are shared by the whole team, and we have decided to share them with you below.

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

R.D: The main mission of SoleCooler is to bring comfort to as many people as possible in a spirit of ecological and social responsibility.

E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?

R.D: We are currently working on a new product dedicated to diabetic people. This product prototype was revealed at the last CES 2024.

E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?

R.D: Currently we only have a single product marketed, ClimFeet the first reversible insole capable of producing cold on one side and heat on the other side. The other product, WarnFeet, is still in development and medical studies will take place by the end of 24.

E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

R.D: The market is not yet mature regarding our thermal comfort insole. Many solutions for the hot side exist but they have a major constraint: the use of batteries. This prevents the democratization of these products, particularly among workers. For the much more medical market of WarnFeet, our product in development, there are also around fifteen players trying to find a solution to the amputation of more than 50 million people every year due to diabetic foot ulcers. But here too there are many barriers to entry into this market, the precision of data, portability and the use of batteries which hinder the user in their daily life and can prove dangerous in the event of ignition.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

R.D: Global warming has the effect of making the seasons more and more difficult and extreme and therefore less and less bearable for people who practice outdoor activities or work. This offers great prospects for thermal comfort solutions which also have no impact on CO2 emissions. But for this it is necessary to make these products known, to educate consumers to make them appreciate a product which aims to be forgotten and therefore does not have a wow effect as its first quality.

E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

R.D: We only have a single product marketed, ClimFeet. This patented product has received numerous awards including an ISPO award and a gold medal at the Concours Lépine International
