Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.
STÖRI MANTEL: We all are facing pretty difficult times, but luckily, our year started very successfully. Not only for us but mainly for all our customers and users of our innovative technology in the Nailing machines world. All woodworkers, get ready:
At the beginning of 2020, we achieved great success, which can be enjoyed mainly by our customers and users. After ten years of development and testing, we have obtained a worldwide patent for our SMPA 500 ED machine.
Not only does it meet environmental requirements, but it also significantly reduces the energy and overall costs of maintaining, using, and operating the machine.
Our team is pleased to inform you that the results of our development and research in the field of palletizing technologies have also been approved by the European Patent Office, which granted patent No. EP2563557 for our products: Nailing machine, on 08.01.2020.
Patent protection is a prerequisite for the success of our company on the global market. We invest a large package of resources in research and development of new products, which bring our customer extensive advantages of machine hammering of pallets, consisting mainly of energy savings. The patented technical solution consists primarily of linear actuators for pushing nails and achieving significant savings. The innovation strategy of our company is based on the continuous improvement of all Störi Mantel s.r.o. products. Including ensuring the legal protection of new technical solutions.
The nailing machine SMPA 500. 2 ED for pallet production utilizes a modern, robust design with an electro-mechanical system to nail pallets of various types and dimensions. The device is standardly equipped with 26 nailing units (optionally up to 40 units). It works with loose nails, and thanks to its electro-mechanical drive has the lowest power input (1.2 kWh) in its class. It is a suitable solution for operating units where high-quality and fast pallet nailing is necessary with high nail pattern productivity and precision.
E.E: What are the ranges of products sold, and what types of services do you offer?
STÖRI MANTEL: At our production factory in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, we focus on producing woodworking machines, making 4 product lines.
We would like to introduce you to the first of several products. Specifically, a long-cut saw with a floating aggregate – today’s single blade ripsaw. We produce several types of these cutting saws with the possibility of offering mechanization and automation from the point of view of input and output conveyors and other devices to facilitate material handling.
The second product is cutting and cross-cut saws. The menu starts with a simple table cutting saw and ends with a sophisticated optimization cutting center. Every customer chooses from our offer of short saws. The third product is pallet technology, offering capacity from 500 pcs to 2000 pcs of pallets per shift. The pallet production line is designed to produce both disposable pallets and pallets certified, e.g.,EUR,CP, Chep.
The fourth product is aimed at saving the workforce, offers a range of mechanization elements for transport, handling, sorting, and storing materials. Our customers appreciate that we are still in contact with the customer, even after selling the machine. Caring for our customers includes not only the assembly of devices but also proper training of the operator and information on how to manage the machine to serve for years. As a result, this means quick help on the phone or the spot by a service technician.
E.E: How do these products/services differ from other types on the market?
STÖRI MANTEL: Our products are fundamentally different, an innovative technology that saves the environment and allows more efficient and energy-efficient pallet production. Thanks to the patented solution of electromechanical pallet killing. We manufacture machines to make your presentation more efficient, and we emphasize safety and intuitive control, which can be handled by anyone who controls a smartphone.
E.E: What customer profiles are you targeting?
STÖRI MANTEL: Our customers are mainly from the primary production of generic such output, which deals with solid wood processing.
E.E: What kind of work do users who use these products/services do?
STÖRI MANTEL: Most of them are manufacturers of windows, furniture, stairs, and we also focus on manufacturers of packaging and pallets.
E.E: How do your products/services improve user work?
STÖRI MANTEL: Thanks to automation, preparing the material, both semi-finished and final products, is accelerated. The operator doesn’t have to think hard about shortening the material or finding the optimum yield effectively. The machines will do this thinking for you. Just enter the relevant material length requirements in the management program. Our machines meet the highest requirements for Work Safety, which is our priority.
E.E: What innovative features do the products/services have?
STÖRI MANTEL: First and foremost, it is an electromechanical pallet-killing system, where instead of a complex hydraulic aggregate, there is an energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly linear actuator, which only works for the duration of the reloading process and thus does not unnecessarily drain electricity like an outdated hydraulic aggregate technology. We can substantiate that idea with a recognized patent. For example, the long-cut saw increases the yield, where the deflection is eliminated compared to the standard material separation. This increases recovery and accelerates subsequent processing operation (e.g., equalizing).
E.E: What are the most common problems, and how did you help solve them?
STÖRI MANTEL: In practice, we normally encounter the question of customers, what problems can arise from the operation of machines? Surely you often find answers to this question: “Our machines don’t go bad” As you know, any device can come to a halt. This is due to the operator’s doubts or to the termination of the liveliness of individual parts. Our principle is to help customers quickly if production stops due to a machine malfunction by responding effectively to the problem with the machine and then removing it.
E.E: What products/solutions are you going to launch in the future?
STÖRI MANTEL: Our goal is to work on technologies to produce pallets. Launch on the market a jackhammer machine for the production of two-way pallets with a capacity of 2000 pcs of pallets per shift. For existing customers, develop a jackhammer machine to produce the bottom of the pallet (legs) to increase the capacity of existing devices.
E.E: What are your estimations for the end of the year?
STÖRI MANTEL: 2020 has been and remains to be economically very challenging for many companies due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Thank God our company doesn’t belong here. We haven’t seen a significant drop in orders. We associate this development by producing and offering a wide portfolio of products, and our products are perceived as exclusive.
