Interview with Stephanie Xian, Vice President of International Business Development & Rod Finney, Vice President of Sales, North America & UK at TRENDnet.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Stephanie Xian & Rod Finney: IT, security/surveillance, transportation, power distribution, and AV.

What’s the news about new products/services?

S.X & R.F: We have new product releases every month. Recently, we were first-to-market GaN Ethernet switches. We expanded our cloud management compatibility to include industrial, and both indoor and outdoor wireless. Late last year, we launched our first industrial multi-gigabit switches.

What are the ranges of products/services?

S.X & R.F: TRENDnet’s diverse product portfolio includes multi-gigabit, industrial, PoE, network switches, fiber, wireless, IP cameras, NVRs, power distribution, KVM, patch panels, Powerline, USB, and more.

What can you tell us about market trends?

S.X & R.F: In the US, what’s selling online is not celling in the security channel, and what’s selling in the security channel is not selling online. However, there is a slight crossover with IT channel and e-commerce sites.

E-commerce sites and to some extent IT has transitioned to multi-gigabit products, with our 10G products being some of our best sellers. We are seeing a similar trend in Germany. The security channel has always been a bit slow to embrace new technology, and has not adopted multi-gigabit products as quickly.

Industrial continues to be growing category for TRENDnet in both the security and IT channels.

A large percentage of our revenue in the EU comes from our industrial lines, and we’re seeing an increase in interest in our managed industrial switching, signaling a trend toward smarter, and more advanced network setups. This reflects what we’ve seen in the market, driven by technologies, such as IoT, AI, robotics, big data, and cloud computing.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

S.X & R.F: GaN Ethernet switches, industrial switches and fiber, remote cloud manager, managed network switches, SFP switches, wireless, and PoE++ devices.

What estimations do you have for the second half of 2025?

S.X & R.F: We don’t usually share specific sales numbers, but we are projecting a decent growth compared to the same period last year.
