The adiutaByte GmbH is a spin-off from the Fraunhofer institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing SCAI. The company provides AI-based algorithms for different use cases like tour planning or personnel planning. The specialty of adiutaByte is to combine highly sophisticated mathematical algorithms, the rich sources of personal and public data e.g. for traffic with the power of in-house developed specialized AI-cores to embed long-year experience and forecasts in optimizing support-systems.
Interview with Dr. Dustin Feld, Co-Founder & CEO of adiutaByte.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Dustin Feld: Our platform is an easy-to-use Web-Frontend with a highly customizable interface to suit many different use cases equipped with their individual private AI cores, provided as software-as-a-service running on our compute servers in Frankfurt. Our main focus industries are ambulant health-care services for tour-planning, stationary health-care services using our shift-optimizer codes, waste-disposal services optimizing thousands of their daily tasks via our platform and thereby saving tons of CO2 with our optimization or even small bakeries planning their breakfast deliveries via our platform when the lockdown hit them – onboarded on the platform within one week!
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
D.F: Most recently, we deployed a missing connection piece in our stack – the new interconnected driver app for Android and iOS. With this, our architecture stack consiting of the dispatcher cockpit (frontend), the databases and the serverless compute-backend is now completed toward online feedback from the drivers in the field. All systems communicate in real-time and make it possible to adjust the planning even within the day or reschedule left orders immediately to a later shift or the next day. Additionally, delivery proof photos and signatures can now be taken on the fly within the one system – adiutaByte – and therefore not only having a leading optimization system for fleet-planning with high-end algorithms but also being in a live system with immediate feedback from all parts of the value chain.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
D.F: From ambulant and stationary health-care optimization algorithm cores, over waste disposal complete planning system up to every intermediate version of such couplings. While our global fleet planning system and personnel planning system are our main products to provide, data-science projects for our customers to give business insights are nowadays as important for us as a company.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
D.F: The whole market for such planning support systems is still in the advancing stage imho. People start using them depending on their needs and pressure, but they are not yet overall, in the market. The combination we provide of AI and optimization algorithms taking the customer wishes, the worker demands, the companies’ business focusses and also the general interests like CO2 reduction into account is very innovative but is making its way through different market segments nowadays – with us.
Dustin Feld, Co-Founder & CEO of adiutaByte
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
D.F: Interconnectivity by Live Data and interactive systems for e.g. better Work Live Balance by being able to adjust the desired shift times on the fly via App are definitely super important aspects to make an outstanding technology like ours broadly accepted by the whole value chain.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
D.F: One very big trend – not just a single product – is and will be Quantum Computing imho. It will help not only to speed up certain processes enormously but will also make every market out there more aware of the need to implement modern SaaS in a data-privacy correct way. This can boost SaaS and the Computing sector at the same time.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?
D.F: We are planning to reveal the health-care market in 2022 with algorithmic-AI solutions even more by implementing them in different domains than only the ambulant health-care sector. The goal is to support this ever-important sector in the health-care crisis with custom tailored support systems. Besides, we are already planning projects with all the biggest cities in Germany to help reduce CO2 emissions with their municipal services to make their fleets more profitable and – at the same time – our precious cities more livable!
