SRMTEC MADE IN ITALY COMPRESSORS

SRMTec Italy was born from the previous RefComp and produces the widest compressors’ range and was also the first in the world to produce a semi-hermetic ammonia compressor (SRS-C). The newest SRMTec Italy production plant (Lonigo) counts the most advanced production technologies and quality control in order to guarantee the most elevated standards of quality to all the customers.

SRM Italy is an integral part of Fujian Snowman Group. With the highest global growth rate in the production of refrigerant compressors, Fujian Snowman Group is located in all continents with 16 companies and several commercial partners.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

  3. Four management principles: Efficient Organization, Full Devotion, High Compatibility and Effective Execution.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

We produce advanced HVAC-R compressors:

  • 100% of piston compressors are made in italy + almost all semi-hermetic screw compressors.
  • Our customers are manufacturers of chillers, heat pumps, cooling systems

Technical, pre- and post-sales support.

Help in compressor selection from an application engineer, proposal of the most efficient solution according to the application, help in commissioning fast deliveries, and products at the leading edge of technology, are what we offer to our customers.

What’s the news about new products/services?

We will soon start the production of the model SRS for ammonia at our factory based in Italy.

On the market since 2019 and distributed by Fujian Snowman Group Co., Ltd., the semi-hermetic screw compressor for ammonia has been a great success in Europe, becoming the first choice for those looking for a compact, reliable and energy-efficient product.

In an increasingly demanding and environmentally conscious market, we strongly believe that research and innovation on the use of natural refrigerants is the key to success.

That’s why we have invested in this project from the outset, working constantly on its promotion.

Production in Italy will enable us to meet our customers’ demand much more quickly.

What are the ranges of products/services?

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

In Italy, the sector has grown a lot in recent years under the impetus of building-related tax incentives, one of whose main goals was to give a strong input to the conversion and energy efficiency of buildings. We are talking about measures such as the Ecobonus and Superbonus, and the Conto Termico that have greatly facilitated the purchase of HVAC solutions as part of renovations or new construction.

However, Assotermica and Assoclima – italian trade associations – are sounding the alarm about the risk that this expansion may come to an abrupt halt as a result of new national measures that have greatly reduced the tax benefits for building work and may have considerable effects on HVAC companies.

Despite these predictions, however, there is also increasing development in the design and technology of increasingly efficient, smart, and sustainable solutions. These drives stem from market demands and the numerous national and European regulations governing their use from the perspective of consumption, safety both environmentally and for human health.

What can you tell us about market trends?

Thanks to the development of energy-efficient HVAC systems, the market is expected to grow significantly by 2027.

As with Italy, globally this growth is explained by the expansion of the construction sector, a boom brought about by the increasing urbanization of various areas of the world and the major increase in smart buildings-smartly managed buildings to optimize energy consumption.

But it is not just that. Global warming due to climate change is leading to increased demands for air conditioners for greater thermal comfort in areas that did not need them until a few years ago.

Covid has also played its role, drawing attention to the importance of proper indoor air recirculation and the need for HVAC systems to be equipped with proper filters to trap airborne pollutants and thus reduce the spread of airborne diseases.
An interesting study that helps us understand the evolution of the market is the report “HVAC 2030 – The Future of Residential Markets in the US, Europe and China” conducted by the BSRIA association, which analyzes the US, European and Chinese markets.

In the U.S., the highest annual growth rate to 2030 belongs to hydronic heat pumps, while quite different is the Chinese scenario, characterized by a lack of incentives for heat pump purchases and a lack of fossil fuel limits. Indeed, in China, the HVAC market will remain anchored to gas boilers for a long time to come (not least because apartments with access to the gas grid are the country’s most common residential solution). Even though the government’s plans include replacing fossil fuels, including coal, with natural gas by 2030. In Europe, the study argues, the market will be driven, as in the U.S., by hydronic heat pumps, followed by air-to-air heat pumps.
