JL SYNERGY is located in Taiwan and their core technology are optics and control of UV LED illumination systems. The company has completed UV LED optical testing laboratory and focuses on the development of collimated beam angle and energy-saving UV LED light sources to replace traditional mercury bulbs for exposure machines in industry.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
We are the only ODM supplier in Taiwan for Japan largest mercury lamp equipment factory. We design the UV LED light source to replace the existing traditional UV mercury lamps which are used in printing ink curing, cleaning, modification, and exposure machines in the wafer and panel industry, also providing end-customers with more energy-saving and environment friendly solutions.
E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?
We have finished the light source transformation of exposure machine for Asia’s first 7.5-generation TFT-LCD panel. The difficult technique is to design the optical mechanism of UV LED collimated beam angle light, and the full-spectrum UV light source with multiple wavelengths that can be dimmed separately. The most important thing is to replace UV mercury bulbs which can save energy above 80%. UV LED does not contain mercury and it’s friendlier for our earth.
E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?
We offer customized products and design UV LED light sources with wavelengths in the range of 254~435nm, collimated beam angles from 3 to 9 degrees. In addition, 10~110 degree requirements definitely not a problem for us if customers need. Both water cooling and air cooling are available. The wattage of equipment can be from 3 to 20,000 watts.
E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
UV LED illuminator applications that have been mass-produced that includes light sources for Japanese brand printing machine, light source systems for contact lens curing, light source systems for TFT-LCD exposure applications and curing, light source systems for the glass of automobile curing, glass cleaning and modification irradiation systems, and AOI light source.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
Due to the impact of the United Nations Minamata Convention, from this year, end customers are facing the need of UV LED development as soon as possible to replace the discontinued mercury lamps. Based on our design and development experience, we have also found that proper optical angle design can maximize energy-saving benefits. For example, our UV LED light source for exposure machine can achieve more than 90% energy saving efficiency. With our heat dissipation technique, the lifespan of LED chip can last more than 5 times compare with the traditional mercury lamps. That will increase the willingness from end customers to consider about starting using UV LED to replace mercury bulbs.
