GRUPO TÉCNICO RIVI: INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE IN LUBRICATION AND GREASING SYSTEMS FOR KEY INDUSTRIES

In a world where efficiency and predictive maintenance are critical for industrial operations, Grupo Técnico RIVI has established itself as a benchmark in lubrication and greasing systems. The company develops high-quality solutions for demanding sectors such as railway, paper, wind power, steel, and petrochemical industries, contributing to machinery optimization and reducing operational costs.

Interview with Eduardo Vicente, Manager at Grupo Técnico RIVI.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Eduardo Vicente: Grupo Técnico RIVI provides specialized solutions across various industrial sectors, ensuring efficiency and extending the service life of equipment:

  • In the railway sector, we supply greasing systems that optimize wheel and track wear, increasing durability and reducing noise.
  • In the paper industry, we develop high-performance lubrication solutions tailored for paper production machinery that operates under humid and high-temperature conditions.
  • In the wind power sector, we provide bearing lubrication systems for wind turbines, ensuring efficient operation and extended durability under extreme conditions.
  • The steel industry benefits from our lubrication systems for furnaces and rolling mills, which are essential for reducing wear and improving production efficiency.
  • In the petrochemical sector, our solutions are designed to operate in harsh environments and at high temperatures, ensuring continuous equipment operation.

Ultimately, all industrial sectors that rely on heavy machinery, high-load mechanisms, and/or high-speed processes require efficient and reliable lubrication systems. This is where RIVI stands out, offering the market everything from engineering and design to commissioning, training, and maintenance, including turnkey manufacturing and installation.

What’s the news about new products/services?

E.V: Committed to innovation, we have recently developed the RLS (Rail Lubrication System) and RAAS (Rail Acoustic Attenuation System), specifically designed for the railway sector. These solutions enable remote control and monitoring of greasing systems, optimizing lubricant application in real time and significantly reducing maintenance costs.

  • The RLS system is designed for the efficient application of lubricants on railway tracks, minimizing wear and improving rolling stock efficiency.
  • The RAAS system provides an advanced solution for noise attenuation in railway infrastructures, reducing noise pollution and enhancing urban and industrial environments.

Both systems incorporate advanced sensors and artificial intelligence to automatically adjust lubrication and attenuation parameters, ensuring optimal performance and efficient predictive maintenance.

Another development for the railway sector is the COPLALUBER system (Catenary Overhead Power Line Automatic Lubricator), which significantly extends the lifespan of pantographs and catenary contact wires while preventing and eliminating the formation of the “ice sleeve.”

What can you tell us about market trends?

E.V: The industrial lubrication sector maintains steady demand, driven by the need for energy efficiency and lower operational costs. In industries such as railway and steel, optimizing maintenance is crucial to ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime.

We observe a growing digitalization of lubrication management, with IoT systems enabling remote monitoring of lubricant conditions and application. Sustainability also plays a crucial role, driving the development of biodegradable lubricants for applications in industries such as paper and energy.

Additionally, there is increasing adherence to sector-specific standards and regulations, requiring certifications, approvals, inspections, and audits. Undoubtedly, market quality standards are becoming more stringent.

What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2025?

E.V: We anticipate sustained growth in the manufacturing industry, with greater adoption of automated lubrication solutions aimed at improving predictive and preventive maintenance. Additionally, we foresee increased demand for consulting and diagnostic services to optimize lubrication systems, particularly in the steel and petrochemical industries.
