Lanco Integrated develops concepts, designs and delivers automated assembly and test equipment for medium to small part production components to diverse industries around the world.
Interview with Barry Rahimian, Global VP Sales and Marketing at Lanco Integrated.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Barry Rahimian: Hi precision systems engineering and integrated production lines, serving Medical Device, Automotive, Consumer Products, Electronics and Industrial sectors.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
B.R: Lanco continues to accept challenges from customers in advancing their factory MFG processes and product innovations. As such, we need to stay ahead of the curve in learning, adopting and implementing advance technologies and solutions in our systems. These include precision feeding technologies, variety of transfer mechanisms and parts movement, robotic manipulations, vision guided applications, IOT and Production Data Management software, controlled metal and plastic base welding and attachment processes, and overall embedded verification and validation business practices to ensure total compliance to customers’ needs.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
B.R: Our customers’ products range is wide and broad, including medical diagnostics, Micro-fluidics and lateral flow cartridges, drug-delivery components, dental, surgery and wound-closure products, emission control valves, transmission-timing components, electronic-control-modules used in ADAS and active+passive safety systems in automotive, consumer products, and general industrial products. In general, we focus on automation solutions used in high volume and high speed production for products with multiple-components that require to be assembled and tested serially.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
B.R: Our customers are typically fortune 1000 global companies with multiple factories worldwide with high volume production.
We are also very active helping customers in the early stage of their business requiring proof-of-concept systems before they transition into high volume production, as part of our DFA (Design For Automation) and Risk Mitigation efforts.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
B.R: There is no doubt that the Industrial and Manufacturing Automation trends are up and growing. With global and broad adaptation and acceptance of automation (equipment, process and software) and advancements in AI, ML, IOT, and other enabling technologies, we are migrating from Industrial Automation and reaching (if not have already reached) Industrial Autonomy and Autonomous Operations.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
B.R: There are many to list, however, companies in this space (whether components, systems or integrated solutions) are all positioning themselves with their offerings in support of this phenomenal shift to Autonomous Operations. As such products range from robots, motion control systems, PC and PLC systems, networking devices, sensors, laser-based process equipment, advance vision and inspection cameras, software and IOT Data Management and so forth.
E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2022?
B.R: We believe, the Global Industrial Automation Market should reach $300 billion in size by 2028 and will continue to grow at a CAGR of 7.5% to 10% during this period.
