Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
METOSA: The company is focused on the design, manufacture and distribution of flat bed CNC and conventional lathes. In fact, today the Metosa Group exports its products to more than 80 countries all over the world, always ensuring the best service possible through a wide network of distributors with homologated and certified technical service departments.
E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
METOSA: Innovation has always been the motor of the company. In the early 80s we introduced to the market our first CNC lathe, this is an example of our commitment with the development of new products and our leadership in the market. In 2019 we launched the JAP series, a new range of state-of-the-art CNC lathes with enhanced technical features, bringing a solution for the most difficult and challenging engineering problems.
Finally, today we are about to launch a totally different range of products. We are very proud to announce that a new range of slant bent lathes will be launched in the second half of 2021. With this new series we will offer a solution for the most demanding clients in terms of productivity, allowing them to maximize and optimize the production of large series of pieces.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
METOSA: Metosa is the manufacturer of Pinacho & JAP flat bed lathes for over 75 years. Our products range from conventional lathes for repairing and maintenance workshops till 4 axis CNC lathes with live tool turrets dedicated to produce large & complex parts. All our CNC machines offer Industry 4.0 connectivity and CAM software programming.
As said before we are currently finishing the last details for the new slant bend lathes. Designed to maximize productivity offering new possibilities to our customers.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
METOSA: Today the company is present in more than 80 countries. Our brand, Pinacho is well known and recognized worldwide thanks to the flexibility and the reliability we bring to all our customers. We make sure that your investment in our lathes will always be profitable.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
METOSA: Now the market needs new products that bring flexibility to face any change in the future. In addition, the customers are embracing the new possibilities that Industry 4.0 and IoT are bringing, as well as the new ways of designing and programming the production of parts using CAD/CAM software.
A very important factor that must not be forgotten in order to remain competitive is that their investments in machinery must be sustainable in order to maintain affordable prices of their products for their customers.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
METOSA: We have the new CNC JAP series in the market since 2019 and right now we are about to launch a new range of slant bed lathes. All this is ready to take profit of the advantages of the Industry 4.0.
We think that with this new range of products we could offer more possibilities to our customers and help them to be ahead of the digitalization and automation process we are living in.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?
METOSA: We expect a considerable improvement for the second half of the year, considering the new situation with the Covid-19 and the vaccines. The increasement in the number of vaccinations will help to recover the industrial activity and will give confidence to continue investing in new equipment.
We are already seeing this in the first steps of 2021.
