TABE Hammers, founded in 1968, brings several decades of experience in the hydraulic attachments. TABE, from his factory in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain), designs, manufactures and markets technologically recognized, robust and durable products, compatible with all excavators on the market. The company is the sole rock breaker manufacturer in Spain and one of the few that remains manufacturing the entire process in Europe.
Interview with Amaia Romero Rubio, Export Sales Manager at TABE HAMMERS.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Amaia Romero Rubio: Our most characteristic product is the hydraulic hammer that we have been manufacturing since 1979. Its unique round design and orange color makes it easily recognizable. Since 2007 our entire range if breakers (from 67 kg to almost 8 tons) has been manufactured without through bolts, this makes their maintenance and repair easier and less expensive. The fact of being a smaller manufacturer makes the relationship with the dealer/customer very close and flexible; we can even adapt or customize the product for a specific client or job.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
A.R.R: In October we will show at Bauma Munich and we will introduce the update of our iconic MT 375 model, compatible with the 5 to 8 tons backhoe loaders so common in all markets. We are updating most of our light range. The purpose of these updates is to increase the power of the hammer with lower consumption, thus achieving a more efficient hammer.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
A.R.R: We complete our catalogue with demolition and recycling attachments such us crusher buckets, screener buckets, pulverizes, shears, grapples, quick coupler, pedestal boom systems. We want to offer a full range of top quality hydraulic attachments to our customers /dealers.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
A.R.R: We are living uncertain times these days but fortunately we had a very good 2021 and 2022 has been same way so far. We are weathering the storm despite the price increase of materials. Spanish market has been a safe place lately and exports are always a plus. Generally speaking, it seems that 2021 has beat all the records for many producers and we are facing a high demand during the last few months.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
A.R.R: Our products are manufactured in Europe under European regulations, which is surely the most demanding of all. We always see how Europe is setting the trend and sooner or later reaches the other markets. These are trends that are here to stay, as is happening with recycling of materials. In the same way, safety regulations and noise limitations are becoming clearer. The durability of TABE products is something that makes our products more sustainable, in addition, at TABE we work to reduce the consumption of our hammers while maintaining or even improving production. The market is increasingly demanding more sustainable, versatile and specialized products.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?
A.R.R: We estimate a very good year, first semester has been very good despite the instability of these days and our participation in BAUMA Munich in October will certainly shoot the last part of the year. We encourage all readers to come to our stand to see our hammers in situ in the outdoor area FN 817/6.
