E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
M.K: The marine industry is steadily moving towards electrification, driven by increasing environmental regulations and consumer demand for sustainable solutions. In Europe, particularly in areas with lakes and rivers, there are laws mandating the use of low horsepower electric propulsion systems. This regulatory push is accelerating the adoption of electric motors, and as a result, new competitors are entering the market approximately every six months.
Simultaneously, the charging infrastructure at marinas is expanding, alleviating concerns about the autonomy of electric boat systems. This growth supports the seamless integration and operation of our advanced electric outboard motor systems, ensuring users can enjoy reliable and eco-friendly boating experiences.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
M.K: Market trends are increasingly shifting towards the electrification of the marine industry. Major companies like Mercury are now developing electric motor systems, highlighting the growing emphasis on environmental sustainability. This shift underscores the urgent need for solutions that allow us to enjoy the sea responsibly, preserving it for future generations.
As the demand for sustainable boating options rises, we anticipate the emergence of more companies and new technologies aimed at enhancing the autonomy and efficiency of electric motor systems. By this time next year, the market is likely to see significant advancements, offering even more innovative solutions to support the electrification of marine propulsion.
E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
M.K: Our most innovative products are our 90 and 115 HP outboard engines. We have designed these electric outboard engines to resemble traditional combustion engines, minimizing consumer hesitation and promoting acceptance. This approach ensures that customers can transition to electric propulsion without sacrificing familiarity or confidence.
Our outboard engines not only meet stringent safety standards but also deliver the significant benefits of electric motor systems, including instantaneous torque and reduced noise. Additionally, our collaboration with a leading marine battery manufacturer enhances the reliability and performance of our systems. This partnership ensures that we provide top-tier electric propulsion solutions that are both efficient and dependable.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2024?
M.K: For 2024, we have several key goals and initiatives:
