OSCIMED: YOUR ALLY AGAINST SNORING

OSCIMED is a Swiss-based company dedicated to improving respiratory health and quality of life through innovative medical technologies. The company operates across three core domains: its historical activity in orthopedics, with a range of cast cutter saws and tools used in hospitals and clinics; its dedicated line of solutions for snoring and sleep apnea and the importation of innovative medical products for the Swiss healthcare market.

Interview with Jacques Maggin, CEO of OSCIMED SA.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Jacques Maggin: In recent years, the field of sleep health has become OSCIMED’s primary focus, where we concentrate our efforts to expand and innovate. Leveraging our Swiss-made expertise, we aim to deliver high-performance, accessible solutions with an optimal quality-to-price ratio—positioning ourselves at the forefront of a rapidly growing and promising sector. So we specialize in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of solutions for the treatment of sleep-disordered breathing—primarily snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). With a strong emphasis on patient comfort, clinical performance, and technological innovation, OSCIMED delivers effective and user-friendly products that bridge the gap between professional healthcare and home treatment. OSCIMED also benefits from a strong worldwide network of medical specialists, sleep clinics, and hospitals, ensuring high clinical standards and broad patient access. In addition, we collaborate with nearly 1,800 pharmacies across Switzerland, making our solutions widely available and easily accessible to the general public. This integrated distribution and referral ecosystem reinforces our position as a trusted partner in the management of sleep-related breathing disorders.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

J.M: OSCIMED SA’s core activities encompass the development and distribution of anti-snoring and sleep apnea treatment devices, both for professional and at-home use. Our product portfolio includes a range of mandibular advancement devices, such as the SomnoFit®, SomnoFit®-S, and SomnoFit®-B, which are designed to treat snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea by gently advancing the lower jaw to maintain an open airway during sleep. These devices are thermoformable for a personalized fit and offer multiple adjustment options to cater to individual needs.

In addition to oral appliances, OSCIMED offers positional therapy solutions, including the PosiForm® anti-snoring pillow, which encourages side-sleeping to reduce airway obstruction, and the vibrating PosiForm®-Belt, designed to prevent supine sleeping positions that can exacerbate snoring and apnea events. These non-invasive treatments are complemented by our commitment to research and development, ensuring continuous innovation in materials and design to meet the evolving needs of practitioners and patients alike.

What’s the news about new products/services?

J.M: In 2025, OSCIMED is proud to present the new version of its anti-snoring belt under the brand of PosiForm®-Belt —an upgraded, ergonomic design that enhances user comfort and adaptability. While the electronic detection and vibration module remains unchanged, the belt itself has been entirely redesigned to offer a one-size-fits-all solution, replacing the previous dual-size system. Thanks to a new fastening mechanism and elasticated materials, it adjusts easily to all body types, ensuring a secure yet comfortable fit throughout the night. The modern and streamlined design also improves user experience and visual appeal, making it a discreet and effective choice for positional snoring therapy. This new belt reflects OSCIMED’s ongoing focus on user-centric innovation and its commitment to practical, non-invasive sleep solutions.

What are the ranges of products/services?

J.M: Our product and service range includes mandibular advancement devices (MADs) for snoring and mild-to-moderate sleep apnea, as well as positional treatment solutions, professional training and support services for healthcare providers.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

J.M: The sleep-disorder treatment market in Europe and USA is experiencing steady growth. Factors such as increased public awareness, and a preference for non-invasive therapies contribute to a dynamic and promising environment. In Switzerland and across the EU, the demand for effective, comfortable alternatives to CPAP therapy is rising, and OSCIMED is well-positioned to meet these expectations through its patient-focused solutions and reputation for innovation.

What can you tell us about market trends?

J.M: Several major trends are currently shaping our industry, including the integration of digital health technologies, the move toward personalized medical devices—particularly through 3D printing—greater emphasis on early screening and prevention, and growing awareness around sustainability in healthcare. While custom-made mandibular advancement devices produced in dental laboratories can be highly effective, they are often prohibitively expensive for many patients. At OSCIMED, we offer a more accessible alternative with our thermoformable oral appliances, which patients can mold themselves at home. This approach ensures a high degree of personalization and clinical efficacy while significantly reducing costs. By combining ease of use, adaptability to individual dentition, and affordability, our solutions democratize access to quality sleep apnea and snoring treatments without compromising on performance. OSCIMED embraces these healthcare shifts with innovation and responsibility, ensuring that our offerings remain both relevant and inclusive.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

J.M: Among our most innovative products are our thermoformable mandibular advancement devices—SomnoFit®, SomnoFit®-S, and SomnoFit®-B—designed to treat snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea with optimal comfort and adaptability. These devices are intended for self-adjustment by the patient, providing a clinically effective, non-invasive solution without the need for laboratory manufacturing. SomnoFit® is our original model, offering high mechanical strength and easy molding in hot water, ideal for users seeking an accessible and proven solution. SomnoFit®-S brings enhanced ergonomics with thinner, more flexible material and a redesigned shape for greater comfort, especially for those with smaller jaws or heightened sensitivity.

All three models include a range of adjustment bands to fine-tune the mandibular advancement level, allowing for individualized therapeutic response. These thermoformable devices offer the benefits of precision fit, excellent tolerance, and affordability—making them a compelling alternative to custom-made dental devices. They reflect OSCIMED’s commitment to combining innovation, patient autonomy, and Swiss-quality standards in the service of better sleep and respiratory health.

What estimations do you have for the second half of 2025?

J.M: Looking ahead to the second half of 2025, OSCIMED anticipates continued growth in both domestic and international markets. We aim to strengthen our partnerships with sleep specialists, enhance our digital services, and expand into new European countries through targeted pilot programs. Supported by our commitment to innovation, service excellence, and patient satisfaction, we expect a significant increase in turnover and broader adoption of our solutions by the end of the year.
