Interview with Doria Marco, Vice Chairman of The Board Of Directors of Tecnoidro.
A brief description of the company and its activities.
Doria Marco: Qualified workshops for buses, trucks and trailers. Our group Doria Holding, we have been working in the mechanical and aftermarket automotive sector for over 40 years. The values that have always distinguished Doria Workshops are professionalism, expertise and research.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
D.M: The main areas of activity of the companie’s group are repair, maintenance and spare parts for industrial vehicles and buses, commercial vehicles and passenger cars, both for the engine mechanics and for the bodywork, the electrical and pneumatic part. Also, we are specialized in remanufacturing of hydraulic and electrical spare parts and whole units for cars, commercial and industrial vehicles, truck and buses, rail and marine.
What’s the news about new products/services?
D.M: We have a fresh new entry about our remanufactured products that it’s the remanufacturing of traction battery pacs.
What are the ranges of products/services?
D.M: REMANUFACTURED SPARE PARTS for example (gearboxes, power steering racks, engines, electric hydraulic steering pumps (eps), brake callipers, dampers, valves, superchargers) for truck&bus, cars, industrial and commercial vehicles, rail and marine;
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF FLEET and FULL SERVICE of buses (also electrical buses), industrial vehicles, trucks;
MARKETING OF ORIGINAL SPARE PARTS from the parent companies of which we are Service Partners.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
D.M: In recent years we have faced the pandemic crisis, the political and economic crisis. In this state of affairs, the fleet in circulation in Italy is increasingly older, approximately 70% of the vehicles are over 5 years old and this has led to significant growth in our sector, aftermarket sector.
Maintenance and repair is preferred to new while maintaining efficiency of their vehicles and this is positive for us and it’s an optimistic detail to the future growth of the aftermarket.
What can you tell us about market trends?
D.M: Today there is a lot of talk about sustainable development, the ONU has included the circular economy in the 2030 Agenda as an objective that countries must pursue. We have been following it for years by giving a new life to spare parts through the remanufacturing, one of the activities in which we are specialized. Remanufacturing is an extremely sustainable process, a model of circular economy: we renew used spare parts “core”, by minimizing the use of raw materials, energy and CO2 emissions and waste production with significant economic savings but guaranteeing functionality equivalent to new ones.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
D.M: Remote management of the fleet on the portal, with the support and use of the AI (Artificial Intelligence) in order to the predictive maintenance, as for example “ZF Bus Connect” that it’s a digital solution for fleet management supply by motherhouse which we are Service Partner, in order to make our working processes more efficient.
What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2025?
D.M: New strategy, innovation, partnership, continuous learning and an increase of the turnover equal to 10% at least, compared to the previous year.
