Interview with Florian Baumgartner, Head of Sales at ICOFORM.
A brief description of the company and its activities.
Florian Baumgartner: As part of the Icotec.Group, we offer a wide range of innovative plastic solutions with decades of know-how.
Together with our group companies, Isosport, Isokon and Tomplast, we have the necessary flexibility to act as a reliable development partner and strategic supplier worldwide.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
F.B: ICOFORM is a specialist in the areas of automotive, household, industrial sectors with an experience of over 30 years and a worldwide reputation for its high-quality products.
What’s the news about new products/services?
F.B: ICOFORM’s aim is to keep our expected and recognized high quality standard and act as a sustainable supplier to our customers. Further developments of new products recently took place in the field of automotive with a new Spray Suppression Flap and a special cleaning “pad” for all sorts of surfaces on outdoor floors. On top of that we have recently developed a new chair mat for soft floors (such as carpets) in offices and homes.
What are the ranges of products/services?
F.B: Together with the other companies of the Icotec.Group our mission is to be the best possible supplier to our customers, offering a complete package for them according to our production facilities and possibilities. For automotive this goes from Spray Suppression Flaps (Clear Pass) to wing liners, mudflaps, bumper flaps and thermoformed parts. In the field of poultry, we cover the nest pads and also conveyor belts for the layers and breeders sectors. Our household division provides products from entrance matting to all kind of chair mats and mats for special applications.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
F.B: As we are in many different markets, a general statement to this is hard to make. We can see that some markets are more stable than others and are in the direction of recovering and growing after some years of stagnation. Some others will have a similar development, but at a later stage of time.
What can you tell us about market trends?
F.B: In our business sectors, sustainable performance and reliability are the key success factors. Innovative products and customized solutions for our customers are our aim whenever it comes to new projects and customer requests. For this, we combine the reliable quality and service of our existing products with innovative solutions for new customer projects.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
F.B: As mentioned before, we have our new products SuperSUB (Cleaning), Clear Spray (automotive) and Chair mats with spikes (household) that we focus on and that we are promoting on all possible platforms and exhibitions that are dedicated to these sectors of use.
What estimations do you have for 2024?
F.B: All in all, we expect 2024 to be a bit above the last year´s performance. Some sectors will recover slowly starting end of this year, some others already show a positive trend over the past few months and some will be stable performing also in the upcoming 6 month. Due to the market dynamics worldwide, a proper visibility for reliable statements is maximum 2-3 months at the moment.
