Interview with Krzysztof Rejek, Head of Business at sun.store.

A brief description of the company and activities.

Krzysztof Rejek: sun.store is the largest online marketplace for solar components in Europe, connecting over 16,000 registered users with more than 7 GW of available products. Our platform serves solar installers, distributors, and developers by offering a streamlined process for purchasing photovoltaic components, including modules, inverters, storage solutions, and much more. As a B2B marketplace, we focus on simplifying procurement, providing financial tools like “Buy Now, Pay Later,” and enabling logistics solutions. Our goal is to create a seamless and transparent, 24/7 experience for our clients, ensuring they can access the best deals on high-quality products from trusted sellers across Europe.

Tell us about your ranges of products?

K.R: sun.store offers a wide range of photovoltaic components that cater to the needs of solar installers and developers across Europe. Our product portfolio includes high-quality solar panels (monofacial, bifacial, and full black), inverters, energy storage systems, and mounting solutions. Recently, we’ve expanded our offerings to include e-mobility products and more comprehensive electro-technical components, addressing the growing demand for integrated energy solutions. Our platform ensures access to top brands like Jinko Solar, JA Solar, Canadian Solar, Huawei, Sungrow and many more.

What makes sun.store unique compared to other products and platforms on the market?

K.R: What truly sets sun.store apart is the combination of advanced technology, transparency, and comprehensive services we offer through our platform. Unlike traditional distributors, sun.store is a fully digital marketplace that allows buyers to access real-time inventory, compare prices, and negotiate directly with sellers across Europe. We provide financial flexibility with features like “Buy Now, Pay Later,” giving clients greater control over their cash flow, while our integrated logistics solutions ensure smooth and timely deliveries.

In addition to simplifying the procurement process, sun.store empowers customers with critical market insights through tools like the pv.index report. By offering a platform that combines transparency, financial tools, and logistics, we create a complete ecosystem for solar procurement, going beyond just product sales.

In what kind of projects are they used?

K.R: The products available on sun.store are used in a wide variety of solar projects across Europe, ranging from residential installations to large-scale commercial and industrial (C&I) projects, and even utility-scale solar farms. Our platform is designed to serve the needs of solar installers, project developers, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) companies, providing them with the components necessary for efficient and profitable solar installations. Whether it’s a rooftop solar for a home, a commercial installation, or a large ground-mounted solar farm, our customers rely on sun.store to supply the high-quality products they need to power their projects.

How are they used by your clients?

K.R: Clients use sun.store primarily as a one-stop marketplace for sourcing photovoltaic components. By accessing a wide range of products from top brands, they can efficiently fulfill their project needs, whether it’s for residential, commercial, or utility-scale installations. Our platform’s built-in negotiation tools and transparent pricing help clients get the best deals, while the “Buy Now, Pay Later” option allows them to manage their cash flow effectively. Additionally, clients benefit from our logistics services, which handle the complexity of deliveries, ensuring that components arrive on time, ready for installation. This all-in-one approach saves our clients time, reduces costs, and helps them focus on delivering successful solar projects.

What kind of problems do your clients face on the job site?

K.R: Our clients, including solar installers, project developers, and sellers, face various challenges. Installers and developers often struggle with unpredictable delivery times, fluctuating component prices, and difficulties sourcing specific products, especially when demand is high or supply chains are strained. Managing cash flow and ensuring timely delivery of components is also crucial to avoid project delays and cost overruns.

For sellers, the main challenges include managing excess stock and reaching a broader customer base. sun.store helps them overcome these issues by providing access to a large pool of potential buyers across Europe. Sellers can efficiently list and sell their products on our platform, reducing stock levels and increasing their sales opportunities.

Krzysztof Rejek – Head of Business Development

How do your products help them overcome these problems?

K.R: sun.store addresses many of the key challenges faced by both buyers and sellers in the solar industry. For installers and developers, our platform offers transparent pricing, real-time inventory updates, and the ability to negotiate deals directly with suppliers, ensuring they get the best possible terms. Our integrated logistics solutions streamline the delivery process, reducing the risk of delays on job sites. Additionally, our “Buy Now, Pay Later” feature allow buyers to manage cash flow more effectively, making it easier to finance projects.

For sellers, sun.store provides access to a vast and diverse marketplace with over 16,000 registered users, helping them reach more potential buyers. By listing their products on sun.store, sellers can quickly move excess stock and expand their customer base, reducing the financial burden of unsold inventory. Our platform also enables sellers to maintain better control over their pricing and distribution, giving them the flexibility to adapt to market conditions.

Tell us about the future improvement of your products?

K.R: We have three key areas we are focusing on to improve our platform in the near future:

Financing for our users

We aim to introduce additional financing options, particularly for installers, to help them fund equipment for projects more easily. By offering flexible financial solutions, we can accelerate the completion of installations and make them more accessible to a broader audience with less working capital requirements on installers.

Logistics network expansion

We are implementing automated tools to provide instant transport quotes. Our goal is to build a robust logistics network that will optimize product delivery and transport processes, ensuring efficiency and transparency.

Technical hotline and support

We are developing a dedicated configurator to help tailor best equipment to customer needs. Additionally, we will launch an expert technical hotline, where specialists will be available to answer any technical questions and assist in configuring products

Agata Krawiec-Rokita, CEO

Is there a special project that your products were used in?

K.R: We help sourcing products for projects on a daily basis. The two largest projects we have recently helped supplying were:

  • 6 MW project in Poland of 535W bifacial modules
  • 3.2 MW project in Portugal – 32 x 100KTL inverters

We also believe in sharing what we have with those in need, which is why we participate in the Solar2Share initiative. This collaborative project brings together companies from the solar industry to provide free solar installations to healthcare and educational facilities, reducing their energy costs and promoting sustainable energy.

As part of this initiative, sun.store proudly donated 157 Jinko modules to support a rehabilitation center in Lviv, Ukraine, with a total installation capacity of 60 kW. This contribution helps the facility lower its energy expenses and ensures a reliable, green energy source, which is especially vital in the region.
