Interview with Keven Wang, CEO of UnitX.
A brief description of the company and its activities.
Keven Wang: Our flagship FleX platform enables manufacturers to deploy inline visual inspection systems quickly, reducing scrap rates and ensuring product quality. We serve a variety of industries, including automotive, electronics, and energy storage.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
K.W: UnitX focuses on transforming the manufacturing process through intelligent automation and Inline AI-powered visual inspection systems. Our core activities include developing advanced inspection technologies that integrate AI-driven defect detection, Generative AI, modular hardware integration solutions, and edge computing. We specialize in visual inspection systems for high-speed production lines, enabling manufacturers to achieve near-zero-defect production and improve quality control.
What’s the news about new products/services?
K.W: We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of FleX at Automate 2025, which promises to be the world’s fastest-to-deploy inline visual inspection system. It combines 2.5D imaging, Generative AI, and software-defined lighting to achieve unmatched inspection accuracy. In addition, GenX, our Generative AI tool, allows manufacturers to generate synthetic defect images from as few as three real images, drastically reducing data collection time and speeding up the training process for AI models.

What are the ranges of products/services?
K.W: UnitX offers a range of AI-driven vision inspection systems, integrated hardware and associated software solutions. Our FleX platform provides a complete, end-to-end solution that includes AI model training, defect detection, data management, and real-time production monitoring. We also offer Generative AI tools like GenX, which help create synthetic defect data to optimize inspection models and improve performance. Our solutions are modular, scalable, and adaptable to high-mix production environments, serving industries such as automotive, electronics, and energy storage.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
K.W: The market for AI-driven automation and visual inspection in manufacturing is experiencing rapid growth as industries seek ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. The demand for intelligent vision systems is accelerating as manufacturers strive for zero-defect production and faster deployment. We are witnessing a shift towards smarter factories where automation and AI are integral to quality control. This is particularly evident in sectors such as automotive, electronics, and battery manufacturing—markets that are embracing advanced defect detection solutions to keep up with increasing production demands.
What can you tell us about market trends?
K.W: The key trends in the manufacturing industry are:
- Increased adoption of AI and automation: Manufacturers are embracing AI to streamline operations, reduce human error, and achieve higher throughput.
- Demand for high-precision inspection systems: As production becomes more complex and part variations increase, there is a growing need for systems that can inspect defects at unprecedented levels of accuracy.
- Shift to sustainable manufacturing: Companies are adopting AI to reduce waste and energy consumption in their production lines.
- Data-driven manufacturing: Manufacturers are investing in data collection and analysis to optimize their production lines, and FleX supports this trend by integrating real-time monitoring and quality traceability.
- Generative AI for data augmentation: The use of synthetic data generated by Generative AI is gaining traction in industries where real defect samples are difficult to collect.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
K.W: Our most innovative products include the FleX platform and GenX tool. FleX offers industry-leading accuracy and fast deployment, allowing manufacturers to achieve zero-defect production in one week. GenX, on the other hand, introduces Generative AI for defect simulation, enabling manufacturers to generate synthetic defect images to enrich AI training datasets with as few as three real images. Both of these innovations are making a significant impact on quality control by increasing accuracy, speeding up deployment, and reducing operational costs.
What estimations do you have for the second half of 2025?
K.W: For the second half of 2025, we expect significant growth as more manufacturers adopt AI-powered visual inspection systems in US. Our goal is to expand our client base and deliver even more customized solutions for high-mix production environments. With FleX’s rapid deployment and GenX’s synthetic data capabilities, we’re confident that UnitX will see continued traction in automotive, electronics, and battery manufacturing. We also plan to further enhance our solutions, exploring the integration of 3D imaging, unsupervised learning, and self-optimizing AI models, positioning us to remain at the forefront of the intelligent vision systems market.
