Schreurs Tools ist part of the Schrerus Holding, which consist among Schreurs – as a solid carbide tool manufacturer mainly for the die and mold industry. The company is also part of Altkotec, as a manufacturer of solid carbide tools for general engineering, automotive and medical applications.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
SCHREURS TOOLS: We develop, design and produce solid carbide tools for our standard range as well as specials for individual customer applications. Our diameter range starts at 0,1 and usually end at 32 mm. Our strength and also main application is machining of hard material (45-60 HRC), graphite milling applications and complex machining applications. We also provide PCD, CVD tools. Alkotec is also reupdated and reliable production partner for OEM partners – especially for series of special tools.
E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
SCHREURS TOOLS: We have just developed and launched a brand new series for titanium milling application (oil & emulsion). Further to this we have started to sell our new Performance- and Neo-Line. Our Performance Line consist of 4 fluted HPC endmills in various diameter, corner radius and recess dimensions. The Neo Line is our brand-new products for ball nose endmills. Both new lines have very good price – performance ratio. With 2021 we will launch 2 more series for very special alloy material.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
SCHREURS TOOLS: Schreurs normally starts with its endmill diameters at 0,1 mm to 12,0 mm in the standard range. 2,3,4 or even more flutes with different coating according to the application. Specials will be offered form 5pcs up to series. Altkotec produces series of its standard endmills and drills as well as its special tools in diameter ranges from 4mm to 32mm. Both companies together cover applications in materials from below 30 HRC up to 60 HRC from milling, drilling and reaming tools.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
SCHREURS TOOLS: The pandemic situation in Germany also had an impact for our business – especially for the medical sector, where Altkotec supplies 40% of its revenue. Since the beginning of 2021 we face a recovery in the automotive as well as die and mold segment. Regarding the medical segment we still have a crisis and the turnover is slowly coming back. Therefore – since the beginning of 2021 – we produce more tools for special applications, we have our strength, know-how and experience.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
SCHREURS TOOLS: Price – Performance ratio is the key. Further to this: Delivery time and the quality of the products is not discussable. In this concern we have established in our quality assurance a 100% control of our products. A sustainability programme, for suppliers in the automotive industry, is meanwhile mandatory.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?
SCHREURS TOOLS: We expect a growth in revenue of about 15-20% in comparison to 2020.
