Hydronit is an Italian manufacturer specialising in compact hydraulic power units (HPUs), based in Varedo (MB). With 23 years of experience and sales in over 70 countries, the company designs and produces compact hydraulic power packs that bring full hydraulic power with the smallest possible footprint. Hydronit is part of the Swedish Dacke Industri Group and is ISO 9001:2015 certified, with CE-marked products.
Interview with Andrea Gambusera, CEO & Founder of Hydronit.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Andrrea Gambusera: The core activity is the design of compact and custom hydraulic power units for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across many sectors: lifting, aerial work platforms, forklifts, special vehicles, agriculture, marine and energy. This is supported by strong in-house custom engineering and an international distribution network. The production is based in Italy, with a dedicated subsidiary serving the Asian market and another one in USA.
What’s the news about new products/services?
A.G: On the product side, Hydronit is expanding its range with new brushless BLDC motors, designed for higher efficiency, finer control and quieter operation; a new EPB DC Electropump with group 2 gear pump; and continued development of the Smart Power Unit, the company’s most advanced platform in terms of compactness and integrated digital control. The latest design step is also worth a mention: a 4 cc/stroke hand pump integrated directly into the central manifold body, removing external lines and connections.
On the service side, Hydronit now offers fatigue and functional testing with dedicated reports for customers, allowing OEMs to validate custom products performance and life durability with documented, traceable results. (The full details are on hydronit.com website.)
What are the ranges of products/services?
A.G: The product range spans from compact and micro hydraulic units with tank volumes from 0,4 to 30 litres, operating pressures up to 370 bar peak, flow up to 25 lpm and configurations in alternating current motors (single-phase 230V and three-phase 400V) as well as direct current motors 12, 24 and 48VDC. It now also includes new brushless motors, alongside the flagship Smart Power Unit, protected by a European patent.

The real strength remains mass customisation: every unit is configured around the specific application and uses mass produced core components designed with a modular concept in mind.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
A.G: The market for compact hydraulic power units is solid and cross-sector: every field that requires handling, lifting, tilting, levelling or braking needs reliable hydraulic power in an ever-smaller space. Demand is driven by the miniaturisation of machines and the growing call for energy efficiency.
What can you tell us about market trends?
A.G: The main trends are clear: electrification and hybrid solutions, reduced footprint, a strong focus on sustainability (including biodegradable hydraulic fluids, which are part of our offering), and the integration of safety and distributed intelligence into the power unit itself. The direction is toward units that are more compact, efficient and smarter.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
A.G: The Smart Power Unit today represents the synthesis of Hydronit’s research in terms of compactness, control and integration. It offers programmability (IEC 61131-3), communication (Can Open, Wi-Fi, Ethernet), power output (PWM) and sensors IN-OUT. They can run on biodegradable fluids and programmed to meet very specific application requirements.
On the service side, the introduction of fatigue and functional testing with documented reports is an equally significant step: it gives customers measurable proof of performance and durability, turning reliability from a claim into data.
What estimations do you have for the second half of 2026?
A.G: The outlook for the second half of 2026 points to growth, supported by the expansion of the international distribution network, the development of new markets and an intensive commercial agenda of industry trade fairs and direct customer visits. The goal is to consolidate Hydronit’s presence across the 70 countries already served and open new channels.
