Daan Tech was founded in 2016 with the mission to reinvent household appliances for the 21st century. The company designs and manufactures a new generation of eco-compact appliances tailored to small households, which now represent more than half of all homes in Western and Asian countries.
Interview with Romain Lemant, Sales Director at Daan Tech.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Romain Lemant: Daan Tech is the only dishwasher manufacturer in France. Over 70% of the components are produced domestically, and its flagship product proudly carries the “Origine France Garantie” label, ensuring traceability and local expertise.
What’s the news about new products/services?
R.L: The company is currently finalizing the development of an innovative multifunction oven that combines five technologies in a single appliance: convection, grill/toaster, microwave, steamer, and air fryer.
What are the ranges of products/services?
R.L: The first product, Bob the dishwasher, has already sold more than 100,000 units. Compact yet powerful, Bob can clean the daily dishes of up to three people in just 20 minutes while using less than 3 liters of water. It operates quietly at 43 dB, requires no fixed water connection, and can be refilled like a coffee machine. Made from 85% recycled plastics, it also boasts the best repairability index in its category (9.3/10).
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
R.L: Daan Tech is mainly active in Europe, but its products are also sold in markets as diverse as Argentina, South Africa, Taiwan, and Japan. The company faces strong competition from Chinese manufacturers whose products are often cheaper but tend to be bulkier, noisier, less energy-efficient, slower, and with poor design.
What can you tell us about market trends?
R.L: With the steady rise in single-person households and couples without children, demand is shifting away from traditional large appliances. Compact, efficient, and sustainable products like Bob are no longer a niche but a growing mainstream segment.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
R.L: Late 2020, Daan Tech launched Bob the dishwasher, the first truly autonomous compact dishwasher in Europe; a breakthrough that set new standards in design, sustainability, and user convenience.
What estimations do you have for the second half of 2025?
R.L: While 2025 shows a slowdown compared to 2024, Daan Tech is preparing strategic moves into new and high-potential markets such as the USA and China, where demand for environmentally friendly, customizable, and compact appliances is growing rapidly.
