Idrogru-Crane is an Italian company with over 50 years of experience in the design, manufacturing, sales, and servicing of truck-mounted telescopic boom cranes, engineered for lifting operations both indoor and outdoor with high performance and maximum safety. The company produces cranes in various tonnage classes, designed to be compact and compliant with free road circulation regulations.
Interview with Chiara Cidu, International Sales & After-Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Idrogru-Crane.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Chiara Cidu: The company’s main operational areas include:
- Technical design and specialist consulting for lifting equipment.
- Custom manufacturing and assembly of truck-mounted cranes and mechanical components.
- After-sales service and technical support for all produced equipment.
- Maintenance services and 24/7 customer support.
What’s the news about new products/services?
C.C: In recent years, Idrogru-Crane has strengthened its positioning in the free-circulation truck crane segment by introducing new strategic models to expand within the European market (in compliance with strict regulations) while simultaneously investing in the company’s structural growth.
• New Flagship Model: KT 130.33
The KT 130.33 is currently one of the flagship products in the range.
It is an 80-ton max payload crane designed to offer an optimal balance between high performance and European regulatory constraints.

Its particularly strategic feature is the total weight limited to 32 tons, allowing free road circulation throughout Europe without special permits. This represents a strong competitive advantage by enabling:
- Faster movement between job sites;
- Reduced logistics costs;
- Greater operational flexibility for lifting companies.
The KT 130.33 aligns with market trends requiring increasingly high-performing yet lightweight and transportable equipment, meeting efficiency and cost-optimization demands.
• KTM200.47 and KTM130.43: The New Monolift
The new KTM200.47 and KTM130.43 represent the technological evolution of Idrogru’s Monolift philosophy.
In particular, the KTM200.47 introduces a “spined” boom system featuring:
- A single internal cylinder for extension and retraction management;
- Seven lateral extensions with integrated automation;
- An excellent weight-to-power ratio;
- Advanced electronic management via CAN-Bus system.
- This new crane model provides:
- Improved performance at long outreach;
- Optimized operating costs.
The KTM130.43, on the other hand, positions itself as a highly versatile solution in the free-circulation crane segment, offering a modern alternative for those requiring a compact crane with significant operational capabilities, particularly in outdoor applications.

The new Monolift models highlight the company’s commitment to:
- Mechanical innovation;
- Structural boom optimization;
- Integration of advanced hydraulics and electronics.
• Expansion of Production Facility
Alongside product development, Idrogru-Crane has initiated a major expansion of its headquarters, building a new facility approximately twice the size of the previous one.
The new site will include:
- A dedicated production area;
- A prototyping and technical development space;
- An enhanced after-sales and service department.
- This investment demonstrates:
- A medium- to long-term growth strategy;
- Strengthened production capacity, with the goal of doubling output in the coming years;
- Increased focus on research and development;
- Improved customer service.
The expansion therefore represents not only physical growth but also industrial consolidation and international ambition for the near future.

What are the ranges of products/services?
C.C: Idrogru markets various families of truck-mounted cranes, typically organized into:
- Light (compact and agile)
- Medium (versatile for demanding operations)
- Heavy (high tonnage and high performance)
- Pick and Carry (self-propelled electric cranes with high tonnage capacity, from 50 to 100 tons maximum payload)
In addition to cranes, the company provides customized design services, tailored manufacturing, maintenance, and after-sales support.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
C.C: Idrogru primarily operates in the truck-mounted crane and industrial lifting equipment sector (such as spreader beams). This is a niche segment but essential for strategic industries including construction, industrial transport, heavy roadside assistance, plant engineering, and oversized transport.
Over the years, the company has consolidated its presence not only in the domestic Italian market but also internationally, with exports and deliveries in several European countries, including Germany and France. This demonstrates an international vocation that complements and strengthens its position in Italy.
The company works with several international dealers. A particularly significant partner is Bando Motor Industry in Japan, with whom it has collaborated for approximately ten years. Around 50 Idrogru cranes are currently operating in Japan, demonstrating the strength of this partnership.

In addition to Japan, the South Korean market deserves special mention. The country supported the company during some of the most challenging years in its history and represents not only an important commercial client but also a strategic partner in research and development.
What can you tell us about market trends?
C.C:
- Growing demand for high-performance yet lightweight equipment suitable for international road circulation;
- Adoption of technologies that improve efficiency and safety;
- Increasing interest in customized Industry 4.0 solutions and greater digitalization in equipment usage.
These trends reflect the evolution of the global lifting equipment market toward more high-performing, versatile, and connected products.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
C.C: Currently, the models that best represent the company’s innovation are:
- KTM200.47 / KTM130.43, for the new “spined” boom concept with single internal cylinder and CAN-Bus electronic management;
- KT130.33, for the outstanding ratio between lifting capacity (80 tons) and total weight limited to 32 tons, optimized for European free circulation;
- Electric configuration versions (electropumps and lithium battery power packs) for greater energy efficiency and operational adaptability.

What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2026?
C.C: Idrogru appears focused on continuing its international expansion, with ongoing deliveries abroad (e.g., Germany and France).
The presence of models such as the KT130.33 and range expansions suggest continuous development of competitive products for advanced technical markets.
The facility expansion also indicates a structured growth strategy for 2026.
