Interview with Mirco Bellani, Export Manager at Carpanese Home.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

Mirco Bellani: For this year new communication launch and total rebranding, we debuted with a brand new claim that sums up and defines the profile of the Company: Carpanese Home, Italian manufacture expressing a natural flair for gentle design and comfortable home living.

In it one can find the essence of our philosophy, approach and vision.

Drawing on our family’s experience in the world of woodworking, Carpanese Home is a design company in which superior Italian craftsmanship and the finest cabinet-making tradition merge with design culture for gentle and timeless furniture collections.

The high stylistic and design quality of our collections, characterized by and artisanal approach with a focus on attention to detail and the highest-quality custom design represents the added value of the brand that has successfully introduced contemporary design codes within a family history. And conveyed them to an international audience.

Under the Artistic Direction of Studio Federico Peri, we design, produce, personalize — through our Tailor-Made Program — every single piece of the collections. We’re keen to state that the only limit, when dealing with Carpanese Home product customization, is imagination. 

In 1990, Marco Bellani founded Carpanese Home Italia with only one goal: to create the most luxurious interior furniture using only the best available materials combining traditional constructing method and innovating design.

The company is based in the hearth of furniture district in Nothern Italy, near Verona.

In 2000, after 10 years from its founding and working with the Italian market, Mr. Bellani decided to export the production all over the world, creating a new concept of quality related to Made in Italy production.

The goal is clear, to export the Carpanese exclusive collection all over the world, providing full support and granting the same high-end exclusive customer service at any time, in every moment and everywhere.

Seven years after, in the 2007, throughout a network of dealers, agents and designers, the Company is present in more than 30 countries, in all the continents.

In 2020, under the artistic Direction of Studio Federico Peri, the brand went under a profound transformation that comes to life in 2024 with debut at Fuorisalone in Milano during the most exiting design week of all.

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

M.B: Carpanese Home — as a design company — deals with the world of interiors covering almost all the areas of the home, except for the kitchen and bathroom.

A little gem of quality representing the Italian design and know-how on the international design scene 

E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?

M.B: As previously said, we’ve recently undergone a profound and total rebranding which affected all the communication and sales materials. New catalogues, news presentation and promotional supports, new images and last but not least a new website. 

A transformation that required almost one year of work and that comes as the result of the long journey we made since 2020 under the careful direction of Studio Federico Peri.

As you can imagine this deep renovation took all of our energy and efforts. During the past year we built a new team of work composed of creatives and communication advisors operating at different levels to sort a new and personal communication. We were looking for something aligned with our vision and approach, communication tools to inspire but not disruptive, elegant but not obvious. WE tried to look at the design word from a different angle and through a different lens. 

This transformative process allowed us to review and updated our recent collections designed by Giorgio Bonaguro and Matteo Zorzenoni with exclusive fabrics, on one hand Cloth Ermenegildo Zegna and on the other Kieffer by Rubelli. Two Italian excellence to enhance the woodmaking tradition of our collections.

E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?

M.B: The focus of Carpanese Home lays on cabinets, consolle, bookshelf, dining tables and a wide range of low tables one can compose — mixing colours, materials, forms and different heights — to recreate unique and original sets.

Alongside these wood oriented furniture, the world of sofas, chairs and armchairs have a special place in our production. The recent installation presented at Milano Design Week 2024 under the title “In Between the Dunes” and curated by the Company Art Direction featured exclusively furniture upholstered with fabrics Cloth Ermenegildo Zegna. Evidence of the central role represented by this genre of furnishings and the meticulous choice of refined and luxury fabrics. 

The night area with beds, cabinets and sophisticated vanity desk completes the offer.

Being a company with a rich artisanal component, we strive to design elegant yet versatile design pieces. Linearity, pure lines, comfort and high-quality materials — rigorously hand crafted in Italy — define our know-how and expertise.

E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

M.B: The current market state is in a continuous movement, not just due to the fact that we work all over the world, so each market is subject to the different economic, political and social changes, but also because the trends and customer’s taste vary quite a lot depending on subjective preferences, personal background, culture and age. Generally speaking, we can see definitely a movement towards modern and contemporary design and a more international taste.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

M.B: We’re seeing a constant interest for the Italian design with a particular attention for exclusivity in processing and premium fabrics. The Made in Italy recognition is still a declaration for quality and craftmanship. Being a medium sized Company, we reserve — and preserve — a particular attention to the relation with our customers. This represents, for us, the main trend driving choices of our market.

E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

M.B: Generally speaking, the new collection upholstered with fabrics Cloth Ermenegildo Zegna is a true improvement. First because it is a new way of combining furniture and fashion business, where it is not just a brand license, but the actual use of the exclusive cloth material, applied in a different sector, implying the use of different techniques in order to apply them.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2024?

M.B: We are seeing a growth in terms of revenue and volumes, a trend that has started a couple of year ago and keeps improving. Also, we are expanding towards different new areas.
