DRIVING INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION: HOW NAVANK CABLE SOLUTIONS CREATE REAL IMPACT FOR CUSTOMERS

NAVANK gives you the speed of a local partner with the strength of a global supply chain flexible ordering, flexible payments, and full control.

Interview with Naval Singhal, Chief Business Officer & Director at NAVANK Holding B.V. | NAVANK Cable B.V.

How does your company define “real impact” when it comes to industrial innovation, and how do you measure it in practice?

Naval Singhal: Real impact, for us, is when customers produce better cables at lower cost – with zero supply disruption and full confidence in material quality. We measure it through production continuity, export audit performance, and repeat business. Our 22% year-on-year growth since inception reflects this directly. Our tagline captures the proposition: NAVANK gives you the speed of a local partner with the strength of a global supply chain.

What specific customer challenges or industry pain points are your solutions designed to address?

N.S: When I took over from my father, Mr. Navin Singhal, the core gap was clear: manufacturers wanted to meet global standards and export to demanding US and European markets, but could not access the right raw materials locally, and importing from Asia was complex and risky to manage independently. We built NAVANK around three pain points: quality, supply reliability, and logistics complexity. Our portfolio covers XLPE Compounds up to 500 kV, FR-XLPE UL Certified, LSZH, Mica Tapes, Semicon Compounds, Water Blocking Tapes and Yarns, Silane XLPE, and full OFC connectivity solutions – sourced from verified manufacturers across China, India, and the UK. Our JIT warehousing model ensures no production stoppage due to delayed raw material.

Can you share an example where your technology or service significantly improved a customer’s operations, efficiency, or sustainability?

N.S: During the global polymer shortage, an Indian OFC manufacturer supplying telecom infrastructure faced severe HDPE, XLPE, and Semicon uncertainty after Western supply chains were disrupted. NAVANK stepped in using our onshore warehousing model – holding 20–30% of material in local stock – enabling uninterrupted production while international shipments remained in transit. What began as an emergency arrangement became a long-term strategic partnership with significantly higher annual volumes. Customers including HFCL, Sterlite, Polycab, Havells, KEI Industries, Cabelte Portugal, and KEC International trust NAVANK for exactly this reliability.

How do you ensure that your innovations remain relevant and adaptable to rapidly changing industrial environments?

N.S: We partner with manufacturers who invest heavily in R&D. Wanma – the largest cable compound manufacturer in Asia – has progressively developed XLPE compounds from 110 kV to 500 kV with national invention patents, producing 500,000 MT annually across four plants. Kemaite, with R&D in Germany, keeps us at the frontier of lamination and ECCS tape technology. Chhaperia International provides leading Mica tape innovation from within India. We complement this with active presence at Wire Düsseldorf – most recently in April 2026 – where we hosted customer meetings and a dedicated customer evening, ensuring we stay ahead of what the market will need next.

In what ways do you collaborate with customers to co-create solutions that deliver tangible value?

N.S: When a customer develops a new cable design, targets a new export market, or transitions to a different quality standard, our team works directly with their R&D and production functions to qualify the right material grade. We manage the full testing and approval cycle between customer and OEM partner. For manufacturers targeting Europe, US, and UK markets, we pre-qualify compounds and tapes against UL44, UL1072, UL1581, IEC60332, IEC60092, and DIN72551, removing export certification risk entirely. Accountability, transparency, and honesty are the foundation – customers receive complete, factual information on pricing, freight, and lead times. No surprises.

How do digitalization and emerging technologies enhance the impact of your offerings?

N.S: Operationally, our backend technology integration enables Just-In-Time delivery across our Indian warehouse network, allowing customers to plan production with confidence. We also deploy data-driven demand planning and inventory forecasting based on customer consumption patterns, maintaining optimum stock levels during demand surges. On the product side, global 5G rollout, smart infrastructure, and EV mobility are driving sustained demand for specialist compounds – Wanma already supplies compounds for EV charging cables, e-beam processed auto cables, and solar applications. The 4G-to-5G transition and Industry 4.0 transformation are creating growing demand for high-performance optical fiber and power cables – all of which require the quality raw materials NAVANK provides.

What role does sustainability play in your innovation strategy, and how does it translate into measurable benefits for your clients?

N.S: Sustainability is a compliance requirement and a commercial differentiator. Our LSZH compounds – meeting B2CA, CCA, DCA, and ECA classifications as well as CMR/CMP ratings – are now mandatory for building infrastructure, data centres, and public installations across Europe and increasingly India. Our FR-XLPE compounds reduce fire propagation risk in power networks. As international buyers demand traceable, sustainable sourcing, our ISO, UL, and IEC certified portfolio directly supports our customers’ own compliance credentials.

How do you balance cutting-edge innovation with reliability, safety, and ease of integration for industrial customers?

N.S: Nothing enters a customer’s production line until we are fully confident in its consistency and compatibility. Every product undergoes rigorous OEM qualification first – Wanma spent years testing their 220 kV XLPE compound before commercialisation, and it is now trusted by major global manufacturers. Our Indian warehousing model ensures that once qualified, supply continuity is never dependent on a single long-haul shipment.

What feedback mechanisms do you use to understand customer needs and continuously improve your solutions?

N.S: Our model is built on direct, continuous relationships rather than periodic surveys. Our team maintains regular contact with customers’ procurement, production, and R&D functions, with quality feedback tracked in real time on every shipment. I personally engage with key customers and attend industry events – our Wire Düsseldorf 2026 customer evening at Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf is a strong example of structured engagement. We also conduct quarterly business reviews covering supply performance, demand forecasting, new product development, and process optimisation. Technical escalations go directly to our OEM’s R&D team – we manage the full development cycle.

Looking ahead, what key trends do you believe will shape industrial innovation, and how is your company preparing to deliver meaningful impact in this evolving landscape?

N.S: Four converging trends define the landscape. First, 5G and Digital India are driving 10–15% annual growth in OFC demand, fuelling need for our LSZH compounds, water-blocking tapes, and ECCS tapes. Second, EV electrification is generating sustained demand for specialist compounds – our Wanma partnership already covers EV, solar, and charging cable applications. Third, the move to high-voltage transmission at 110 kV, 220 kV, and beyond demands XLPE compound consistency – our portfolio reaches 500 kV. Fourth, global supply chain diversification is creating demand for partners like NAVANK who combine offshore procurement with onshore stock. Our vision: to build NAVANK into the most trusted global distribution and supply chain platform for the cable industry, targeting USD 30 million revenue by 2030 through world-class sourcing, technical depth, warehousing infrastructure, and long-term customer partnerships.
