SOSNOWSKI WORKSHOP TECHNOLOGY FOR AUTOMOTIVE, RAIL & MILITARY

As the automotive, public transport, railway, and military sectors demand higher automation, electrification capabilities, and digital diagnostic workflows, Polish workshop equipment integrator SOSNOWSKI sp. z o.o. s.k. is expanding its turnkey engineering portfolio. Founded in 1992 by CEO Rafał Sosnowski, the company designs, supplies, installs, and services complete technical infrastructure across commercial vehicle inspection stations, military depots, and rolling stock maintenance facilities. Among its latest technical developments is a contactless 3D wheel alignment system for commercial vehicles. Utilizing four vertical columns equipped with 18 high-precision cameras and 8 real-time projection systems, the solution calculates complete wheel and axle geometry in seconds without requiring wheel clamps or targets. SOSNOWSKI’s recent innovations also include the mobile oilmat T2 dispensing trolley, the monty® T-Matic PRO automatic tire changer, dynamic multi-platform test lanes for multi-axle braking and weight distribution analysis, and integration of the MAHLE TechPRO® 2 diagnostic platform.

Interview with Rafał Sosnowski, Founder & CEO of SOSNOWSKI sp. z o.o. s.k.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Rafał Sosnowski: Our story began in 1992 with the repair of automatic transmissions. We quickly realized that the market lacked the right tools and technologies to carry out this work properly, consistently and without compromise. Rather than accepting the limitations of the solutions available at the time, we turned to the best technologies from around the world, gaining practical experience and adapting them to our own needs. Over time, we began developing and integrating our own solutions, which were later made available to other users.

Today, we are one of Poland’s most recognized suppliers of workshop equipment and technical infrastructure for the automotive, public transport, railway and military sectors.

What do we do?

We design, supply, install and service complete workshop technology solutions — from individual pieces of equipment to entire workshops and vehicle depots.

We equip passenger car and commercial vehicle service facilities, vehicle inspection stations, military workshops, bus and tram depots, as well as railway rolling stock maintenance facilities. We specialize in designing and manufacturing specialized technical solutions tailored to the specific needs and operating conditions of each customer.

What’s the news about new products/services?

3D Wheel Alignment System for Commercial Vehicles

The vision system consists of vertical columns equipped with high-precision network cameras featuring high-quality image sensors. Data is transmitted between the cameras and the computer via a network connection. The advanced vision system automatically detects the measuring targets mounted on the vehicle’s wheels, determines their position and orientation, and then precisely calculates their position in 3D space. Based on the collected data, the system calculates the wheel and axle alignment parameters.

The vision system consists of four columns equipped with a total of 18 cameras and 8 projection systems. The cameras and projectors perform real-time 3D scanning of each vehicle wheel, enabling the system to determine its position and orientation in space.

The measurement process is completely contactless — there is no need to install clamps, measuring heads or measuring targets on the wheels. Based on the captured image, the system automatically determines the wheel alignment parameters, while measurement and adjustment results are displayed on the computer screen in real time.

The system is designed to perform measurements within just a few seconds and requires no additional space in front of the vehicle. The rear columns are rotatable, allowing the position of the rear wheels to be monitored during the measurement process.

Workshop Oil Management – oilmat T2

A mobile, intelligent station that transforms oil dispensing from 60–220-litre drums into a fast, clean and fully controlled process. Designed for use with drums, the trolley enables the manual or automatic dispensing of a predefined quantity of oil or compatible operating fluid.

Fully Automatic Tyre Changer – monty® T-Matic PRO

A fully automatic tyre changer designed for fast and intuitive operation and capable of handling all types of tyres. Ideal for technicians with different levels of experience, it simplifies the servicing of even the most demanding tyres.

Multi-Platform Tester for Braking, Weight, Suspension and Lateral Deviation of Commercial Vehicles

The system uses a set of measuring platforms equipped with precision force and load sensors. As the vehicle passes through the test lane, the system records the load on individual wheels and the forces generated during braking.

Based on the collected data, the software automatically determines braking efficiency, differences in braking force between the wheels on the same axle, vehicle weight distribution and vehicle behaviour during braking.

The multi-platform design enables the simultaneous analysis of multiple axles of a commercial vehicle, tractor unit, trailer or semi-trailer. Measurements are performed dynamically, during the vehicle’s actual passage through the test lane.

Depending on the configuration, the test lane can be expanded to include lateral deviation measurement and additional diagnostic functions for assessing the condition of the vehicle’s running gear.
