AMMP LAUNCHES RAY AI COWORKER FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY ASSETS

To help renewable energy operators scale portfolio oversight without linear team growth, AMMP Technologies has introduced Ray, an AI coworker engineered specifically for asset management and O&M teams. Operating across Microsoft Teams, Slack, and AMMP OS, Ray analyses live telemetry nightly from over 10,000 distributed solar, storage, and hybrid sites across 35+ countries, separating grid outages and curtailment from equipment faults.

In the interview Chief Commercial Officer Andreas Lehner, highlighted how AMMP OS unifies data from more than 30 equipment brands via cloud-to-cloud APIs and AMMP Edge hardware. By automating repetitive workflows, such as ranking recurring O&M alarms, verifying SLA compliance against contracts, and drafting tamper-evident investor reports, AMMP bridges the gap between raw portfolio telemetry and actionable operational execution.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Andreas Lehner: AMMP Technologies is an Amsterdam-based SaaS company and the data and AI platform for renewable energy asset management. More than 10,000 solar, wind, battery and hybrid sites in 35+ countries run on AMMP, which brings data from 30+ inverter, battery, meter and generator brands into one model. Owners, operators and O&M providers use it to monitor their portfolios, find and fix underperformance, and produce technical, financial and investor reports. In October 2026 we launched Ray, our first AI coworker for asset management teams.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

A.L: Remote monitoring and alerting for distributed solar, storage and hybrid systems; performance analytics, including performance ratios and energy-loss breakdowns; billing-grade financial reporting for PPA and lease portfolios; stakeholder and investor reporting; and AI coworkers that carry out asset management work alongside people. Most of our customers run commercial and industrial portfolios.

What’s the news about new products/services?

A.L: In October 2026 we launched Ray, an AI coworker for renewable energy asset managers. Ray works in Microsoft Teams, Slack and AMMP OS. Each night he checks every site against its budget and explains shortfalls (grid outages, curtailment, inverter faults, soiling), ranks recurring alarms by what to fix first, checks O&M contracts for availability and response-time breaches, and drafts investor reports. The team reviews and approves everything before it goes out.

What are the ranges of products/services?

A.L: We offer two products, built so that people and AI work on the same data. Ray is our AI coworker for asset management teams. He joins teams in Microsoft Teams, Slack and AMMP OS and takes on defined areas of work: tracking every site against its financial model and explaining underperformance, turning recurring alarms into a ranked list of what to fix first, checking O&M contracts for breaches and drafting the resulting claims, and drafting investor reports from live data. He works proactively, pulls the right colleagues into one thread and learns how each team prefers to work, while people review and approve every output. More coworkers for other areas of asset management will follow.

AMMP OS is the data platform underneath: it connects 30+ equipment brands into one normalised model and provides monitoring, alerting, ticketing, dashboards, performance and financial reporting, a white-label stakeholder portal, and AMMP Edge for equipment without a cloud connection. Through our Data API and MCP interface, customers can also connect their own AI tools and agents to the same trusted data.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

A.L: Distributed solar and storage are growing fast, especially in emerging markets, where businesses install rooftop solar and batteries to cut costs and replace unreliable grid power and diesel. The fleet is growing faster than the teams that run it: one asset manager may now oversee hundreds of sites across several countries, with mixed equipment, contracts and data systems. Much of the work is still manual, which makes operating costs and underperformance a growing share of the economics.

What can you tell us about market trends?

A.L: Storage is being added to many commercial sites, which makes each site more complex to operate. Investors want more timely and traceable performance data as distributed renewables become an established asset class. And AI is moving from dashboards into operations, with agents that carry out tasks rather than only showing data. We think the companies that combine reliable data with AI that teams can trust will set the standard for asset management in the coming years.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

A.L: Ray. Most AI tools in energy answer questions about a dashboard. Ray does the follow-up work: he spots problems early, explains them, brings the right people into one thread and drafts the reports and claims that follow, while the asset manager stays in charge. He learns how each team works, from who looks after which sites to what report format each stakeholder needs, and runs on the same data platform that already serves 10,000+ sites.

What estimations do you have for the last part of 2026?

A.L: We expect the end of 2026 to confirm the shift from building renewable capacity to operating it well. Installations of distributed solar and storage keep growing, but grid constraints, curtailment and tighter returns mean owners and investors are paying much closer attention to how existing assets actually perform.

At the same time, portfolios are growing faster than the teams that run them, so we expect more operators to automate routine monitoring, reporting and contract work, and AI to move from pilots into day-to-day operations. Companies with clean, unified data will be the ones able to take advantage of it.

For AMMP, the rest of 2026 is about bringing Ray to our existing customers, expanding from commercial and industrial solar into utility-scale and wind portfolios, and growing in the US and Latin America.
