SAMOTER 2026: THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY EXHIBITION

The countdown has officially begun for SaMoTer, the triennial International Exhibition of Construction Equipment, which will return to Verona from May 6 to 9, 2026 for its 32nd edition. Six indoor halls will be available for exhibitors, along with three outdoor areas. With twelve months to go, Veronafiere is already working to build an increasingly interactive, dynamic, and innovation-focused edition, featuring new and major presences among leading manufacturers.

SaMoTer,” explains Adolfo Rebughini, General Director of Veronafiere, “represents the meeting point for the entire construction machinery supply chain in Italy and a key observatory on global trends and innovation. The 32nd edition aims to be even more comprehensive, with an expanded exhibition offering, the return of major international players, and new networking and e-business opportunities. One year before the event, Veronafiere continues its efforts to shape a trade show that can interpret and lead market evolution.

As the only exhibition in Italy entirely dedicated to the full range of construction equipment, SaMoTer (organized by Veronafiere in partnership with UNACEA and CECE) confirms its role as a strategic hub for the entire industry: from earthmoving to lifting, demolition to drilling, crushing, quarry to site vehicles, concrete to road construction, including equipment, engine components and spare parts, logistics, services, and ICT.

The 32nd edition of the trade fair will therefore serve as an important showcase and an unmissable appointment for all professionals in the sector, given that the construction supply chain plays a central role in the national economy and is one of the pillars of Italy’s GDP. SaMoTer is thus a meeting and discussion platform that fosters and supports business, offering data and insights to better analyze the current landscape and future prospects. According to UNACEA (the Italian Construction Equipment Association), 2025 is expected to be a transitional year for the construction machinery sector. After an 8.9% decline in 2024, the current year is projected to see a smaller drop in sales, estimated at around 3.3%. Despite the physiological decrease in demand, the sector is expected to maintain high sales levels, supported by public investments and the ongoing need for new infrastructure. In 2024, total turnover in the Italian construction machinery manufacturing and trade industry reached €6.1 billion, employing around 85,000 people. Domestic production amounted to €3.9 billion, of which €3.2 billion was exported globally. The trade balance surplus stands at around €1 billion.

As part of the international CECE partner trade fair cycle (the European Federation of Construction Equipment Manufacturers), the show will highlight the Industry 4.0 revolution transforming the construction and earthmoving equipment sectors. Key topics will include ecological transition, machine sustainability, digitalization and artificial intelligence, jobsite automation, new solutions for road infrastructure, as well as crucial issues such as safety, training, and rental. This makes the event a must-attend, not only for its developing program of conferences and workshops at the SaMoTer Arena, offering professionals valuable insights, but also as an international B2B platform with numerous top foreign buyers selected, invited, and hosted in collaboration with ICE-Agenzia. SaMoTer Digital will also return in 2026 as a strategic stage for the industry, encouraging dialogue among technology producers, professionals, managers, operators, and construction companies. The 32nd edition will also see the expansion of the Digital Jobsite, the SaMoTer Digital demo area, transforming it into a fully automated construction site.

One of the major new features of 2026 is the launch of SaMoTer Academy, aimed at addressing a crucial challenge in the construction machinery sector: the gap between demand and supply of qualified operators. The initiative lays the foundation for both structured recruitment of school-age students and high-level training for companies joining the program. At the end of the path, SaMoTer Academy will award diplomas for Qualified Construction Equipment Repair Technician or Qualified Construction Equipment Operator. Meanwhile, the lead-up to the exhibition kicks off with SaMoTer Days, SaMoTer Innovation Award, SaMoTer B2Press, and the SaMoTer Webinars.
