E.E: How do these products / services differ from other types on the market?

Wöhner: Wöhner offers a wide range of components and all Wöhner products are easy to use and to install, which results in time savings of up to 80% compared to conventional products. Besides that, Wöhner products are safe, space saving and allow for a clear structure in the cabinet.

E.E: What customer profiles are you targeting?

Wöhner: Generally speaking, our main target groups are from the industries of energy distribution, control technology and renewable energies. The MOTUS C14, the brand-new electronic motor starter, is aimed especially towards machine builders and process technology manufacturers.

E.E: What kind of work do users who use these products / services do?

Wöhner: The MOTUS C14 is a direct- and reserving- starter for motors up to 5.5 kW. Users who use the MOTUS C14 generally work with switching fans, roller conveyors, pumps, valves and complex machines. It is also a soft starter and is able to switch resistive loads up to 25 Hz. This is especially helpful in a work environment with air duct heaters, tool heaters and surface technology.

E.E: How do your products / services improve user work?

Wöhner: The new MOTUS C14 were designed to meet our customers’ needs for future-proof machinery and plant constructions: it features space savings, intuitive user guidance and integrated communication and measurement technology. Besides that, fuseless, restartable motor protection and intelligent integration in central or decentralized systems are more benefits of the MOTUS C14.

E.E: What innovative features do the products / services have?

Wöhner: The MOTUS C14 is designed with a special technology for safe and fast switching and for extremely fast short-circuit-handling up to 100 kA. It is also equipped with an interactive operating concept with OLED Display, interactive guidance via device lightning and user guidance with commissioning- and solution-assistant. Another feature is the diagnostic- and Process-Data for internal use and for retrieval via IO Link. Furthermore, the Wöhner product portfolio reduces maintenance due to the spring contact and all products are type-tested and therefore particularly safe.

E.E: What are the most common problems and how did you help solve them?

Wöhner: The most common issues our customers face are solved with the development of our new motor starter MOTUS C14: space savings, intuitive user guidance, integrated communication and measurement technology, plus fuseless, restartable motor protection and intelligent integration in central or decentralized systems.

E.E: What products / solutions are you going to launch in the future?

Wöhner: We have just launched the new electronic motor starters MOTUS C14. The development was extremely demanding, but it was the start of a promising direction for the future: the introduction of electronic features into the Wöhner system world. The MOTUS C14 is a genuine ‘Wöhner Made in Germany product’ and for the future we plan to expand electronic features in the Wöhner system world.
