INTERVIEW WITH REVIS3D

revis3d GmbH is a service company based in Germany. The company beliefs that the success of a company is depending on its image and a strong image creates trust and desire for its products. revis3d also beliefs that 3D-data are a perfect source to sustainably strengthen that image. They are creating tools and digital artwork for marketing, sales and development to support that.

Easy Engineering: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

REVIS3D: We are bringing CAD2VR® to the market. The Software allows any company to walk-on their existing CAD-data in virtual reality. It can effectively be used by different departments. There is the error prevention case for development. Companies can save massive amounts of money by recognizing product errors early in the development chain. There is the rule of 10 that says that the error cost for undetected errors from step to step in the development chain rise by the factor of ten at each step. Then there is big potential for sales. Just give your salesmen a laptop with CAD2VR® and VR goggles and they can bring any large product to their customers without the space and assembly needed otherwise.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

REVIS3D: The main areas are digital 3D content creation, in form of product visualizations and 3d animation, virtual product presentations, in real-time and for web. And there is the new CAD2VR®, which is a software that makes it easy to walk-on CAD data in VR.

With our product visualizations we provide our customers with state-of-the-art imagery. Product images incorporate the product image at first contact. Good imagery is a must when it comes to quality products. If your products can meet the customers’ expectations, they will compensate for that.

3D animations are great marketing tools and can be widely spread over different online channels including social media. When it comes to functional animations, we love a modular approach which makes it possible to reusing content. By abstracting processes from a single product, the animation content becomes even more flexible and valuable.

Bringing it all together our virtual product presentations are a game changer in the process of marketing and sales. We digitally rebuild product applications and their functions and create a VR application from that. Our customers can then bring the full application to their customers and let them experience the scenario as if it was the real setting. These are extremely striking sales tools that make a big impact on their customers.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

REVIS3D: We are convinced that virtual reality technology has a huge potential for companies in different areas. VR glasses are increasingly cheaper and widely available. There is no real cost-factor that will stop companies to implement VR technology into their workflows. If companies want to use their existing CAD-models CAD2VR® is really simple to use. Just open a CAD file and walk onto it. There is no training required. Just start using it.

If companies want to emulate real product applications, we can build a virtual twin of that setting and they can bring it to their customers.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

REVIS3D: The initial CAD2VR® marketing campaign that was planned for 2020 was massively handicapped. We are still not at the point where we had hoped to be at the end of 2020. Two tradeshows that we wanted to present CAD2VR® at, were cancelled. Online tradeshows are no real replacement for a live tradeshow. So, we are waiting for large scale normalization and the end of contact and travel restrictions which is hopefully to happen this summer as this is the case in other countries already. We have applied for development sponsorship together with a known Institute of technology. We have plans to making CAD2VR® multiuser capable. For now, we are ready to sell CAD2VR® to any company that is interested in early stage error detection and walk-on/presenting their products in VR.
