BIO-CIRCULAR ACOUSTICS & ARCHISONIC®: SVEN ERNI INTERVIEW

Founded in 2019 alongside Jeffrey Ibañez, Impact Acoustic engineers wall, ceiling, spatial, and lighting solutions utilized by global tech and corporate brands. Utilizing proprietary materials such as upcycled PET-based ARCHISONIC® Felt and the bio-circular ARCHISONIC® Natura – which earned Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold status – the company bridges spatial sound absorption with closed-loop design.

With distributed production across Europe, Asia, and North America, Erni explains how localized supply chains and verified circularity position the business for expansion through 2026 and beyond.

Sven Erni, CEO and Co-Founder of Swiss scale-up Impact Acoustic, discusses how the Lucerne-headquartered company is setting new benchmarks in architectural acoustics through circular materials science.

A brief description of the company and its activities

Sven Erni: Founded in 2019 by Sven Erni and Jeffrey Ibañez, Swiss pioneer Impact Acoustic specializes in functional and aesthetic acoustic solutions that meet the highest standards of sustainability. Its product portfolio includes wall and ceiling panels, room dividers, and lighting solutions, and is trusted by renowned companies worldwide. These products enhance acoustic comfort in offices, public buildings, hospitality venues, and retail spaces. The company employs around 190 people across its headquarters in Lucerne and production facilities in Milan, Manila, and San Diego.

Impact Acoustic transforms waste into high-performance acoustic products, setting new standards for environmental responsibility. Its portfolio feature four innovative materials—ARCHISONIC® Felt, Natura, Textile, Print – each designed with circularity and performance in mind. From recycled PET to bio-based cellulose, Impact Acoustic empowers architects and designers to create expressive, functional, and sustainable spaces.

IMPACT ACOUSTIC® is a Swiss company developing and manufacturing high-performance acoustic solutions for architecture and interior design. We combine acoustic performance, design flexibility and circular material innovation.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?
