Did you know that concrete is the most used material in the world in terms of volume, where about 6 billion cubic meters of concrete is made each year, which equals one cubic meter for every person on Earth? Having said that, it is noticeable that concrete is exclusive among the major construction materials as it is flexible, durable and economical. Implementing latest technologies and practices in the concrete industry became surely a must as several Mega Construction Projects are taking place in the GCC region with strict specifications and challenging requirements.
National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), a U.S. based organization, and Grey Matters, an innovative professional entity based in UAE, are organizing the 9th International Concrete Technology Forum (ICTF) which will feature the latest advances, technical knowledge, recent regulatory changes and future trends in concrete technology. The conference will take place in Doha on the 3rd of December, and in Dubai on the 5th and 6th of December in Roda Al Bustan Hotel.
For the second year, the Dubai Municipality is the strategic Partner of the conference in Dubai with reference to many projects and researches that have been initiated with Grey Matters and NRMCA. Moreover, the “Concrete Sustainability Council” is endorsing both conferences.
Local, regional and international speakers will share topics like “Impact of LCA and EPD on Buildings”, “Dubai Municipality’s Green Concrete Solutions based on LCA and EPDs”, “3D Concrete Printing” and “Precast Concrete”. The ICTF Doha and Dubai will feature a workshop that draws a roadmap to concreting better, connecting all the parties involved in construction. A new project by the Dubai Municipality will be introduced entitled: “Service Life of Concrete Structures in Dubai”. Moreover the ICTF Dubai will include a panel discussion deliberating local requirements of the Dubai Municipality for Green Concrete as well as the DM-DCL Ready Mix Concrete Certification – Continual Improvements and Future Innovations.
Dubai Municipality, NRMCA and Grey Matters, will delightedly carry on with the “Dubai Municipality Awards” for the Ready Mix Concrete and Precast companies in Dubai that was introduced for the first time during the 2016 ICTF. Companies will be rewarded for several achievements including the performance in achieving the Dubai Central Laboratory certification under Dubai Municipality Standard Specification, DMS 026.
The 9th International Concrete Technology Forum delivers learning and networking opportunities on the latest advances, technical knowledge, research, tools and solutions for sustainable concrete manufacturing, design, and construction. Attendees will receive up to 10 professional development hours (PDH’s). Researchers, authorities, academics, students, engineers, architects, contractors, concrete producers, public works officials, material suppliers and concrete industry professionals are invited to join the ICTF and be part of this networking platform.
