The more wishes and requirements a company poses for a conveyor solution, the more difficult it is to find a suitable implementation partner. The integrator Metal Work also had this experience with a Brembo demo line for the Polytechnic University in Milan, but eventually found what it was looking for.
Brembo wanted to construct a complete demo line showing future engineers how processing phases are done. This Italian company is a world leader in the design, development, and production of braking systems and components for cars, motorcycles, and industrial vehicles for the original equipment market, spare parts, and racing. It wanted to make its knowledge and experience available to the Polytechnic University in Milan.
Tight space and aesthetic design
The requirements for this project were challenging, the requirements difficult. There was little space available for the demo line and aesthetic design was a “must” to represent Brembo appropriately. In addition, the line was supposed to consist of four processing steps, centering operations, and flexible line guidance. The integrator Metal Work needed a reliable partner for implementation. It found the perfect partner in Montech AG.
Customized standard solution
This Swiss company specializes in the industrialization and standardization of state-of-the-art, unusual belt conveyors, transfer systems, and innovative aluminum framing systems. Montech chose the standard pallets of the LT40 transfer system as the basis for the demo line and adapted them individually to Brembo’s needs. Montech installed three stoppers in each of the four processing stations; these allow the pallets to be stopped and moved step by step, which allows multiple parts to be processed at the same time in each workstation. If the parts are positioned on a single pallet, the same operation can be performed on three different parts.
Brushless 24V motor
Montech solved the problem of the tight space with the integrated brushless motor for the LT40 transfer system. Its compact design allows maximum space utilization. In addition, the 24 V motor offers flexible parameter management. Both the speed and direction can be controlled variably via digital and analog signals.
Mission fulfilled with quality and service
All in all, Montech delivered a perfectly tailored solution with service that impresses all the way down the line: The individually adapted LT40 transfer system was pre-assembled, tested, and delivered very quickly. Today, it inspires prospective engineers from the Polytechnic University in Milan every day and represents Brembo in fine fashion.
