Interview with Marc van den Heuvel, Global Sales Manager at Videology.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Marc van den Heuvel: We specialize in creating customized imaging solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators, and companies at all scale involved in advanced technology sectors. SCAiLX Edge AI Camera Platform, board-level cameras, block cameras and Photo-ID cameras are our main product groups. Our cameras are embedded into systems across various industries, including medical devices, life sciences, traffic management, aerospace, inspections, and more.
What’s the news about new products/services?
M.v.d.H: We have recently expanded our SCAiLX Edge AI Camera Platform to include a variety of new products, enhancing AI-powered video analytics capabilities of the platform.
Our updated lineup features:
- System on Module (SoM) Board for Edge Vision AI: A compact 42×42 mm board built on an NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor, designed to serve as the core of the SCAiLX platform.
- 2MP Global Shutter Board Level Camera: A high-performance camera module suitable for applications requiring precise imaging.
- Zoom Block Cameras: Advanced cameras with enhanced zoom capabilities, integrated into the platform for versatile imaging solutions.
- LVDS-to-MIPI Converter Board: A converter facilitating seamless integration between different video signal formats.
- Ethernet Interface Boards: Boards providing Ethernet connectivity options, including Power over Ethernet (PoE) and DC-powered variants.

These additions are now available for order, offering flexible and scalable solutions for various AI and imaging applications.
Additionally, in February 2025, we announced the release of two new cameras, the Videology 201 and 202. These cameras are designed for low-latency and high-sensitivity imaging, featuring electronic Pan-Tilt-Zoom (ePTZ) and VISCA control capabilities.
What are the ranges of products/services?
M.v.d.H: We offer a comprehensive range of products, including:
- SCAiLX Platform: A modular edge AI platform that integrates advanced imaging solutions with artificial intelligence capabilities.
- Board Level Cameras: Compact, customized cameras with diverse interfaces and specifications.
- Zoom Block Cameras: Cameras that combine optical zooming capabilities with autofocus functions, suitable for applications like cranes, drones, and defence sectors.
- Photo ID Cameras: Used primarily for access control and badging applications.
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
M.v.d.H: We observe a significant growth of the market for industrial-grade embedded cameras with an increasing demand across various sectors such as medical diagnostics, traffic management, aerospace, and defence. According to a report by Allied Market Research, the industrial camera market was valued at approximately USD 1.9 billion in 2020 and is projected to reach USD 4.7 billion by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 7.6%. Of course, advancements in imaging technology and the integration of artificial intelligence are contributing to the expansion of this market.

M.v.d.H: The key trends shaping the industrial embedded camera market are:

M.v.d.H: The SCAiLX platform, a modular device with a powerful AI engine at its core is one of our most innovative offerings by far. Built around the NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor, this platform enables real-time data processing and analysis at the edge. It supports various peripherals, including board cameras and block cameras -even from Sony and Tamron, providing a modular, flexible and scaleable solution for Edge vision AI applications.

What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2025?
M.v.d.H: At Videology, we remain committed to innovation and customer-driven solutions. We actively engage with our customers, understanding their needs first hand to develop fast, effective imaging solutions. This hands-on approach ensures long-term reliability, with some of our cameras remaining in use for over a decade.
