TESSITURA, CONNECT EVERYTHING NOW

Tessitura is an independently operating software developer within the Steuber Group. Founded in 2021, the company has set itself the task of networking all production processes in a print shop across manufacturers, intelligently and scalable at any time in a single platform. The centrepiece of the portfolio is the Odeon platform with its various modules and physical components. Tessitura GmbH has its headquarters in Mönchengladbach.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Tessitura is dedicated to developing innovative, practical workflow and networking technologies—cloud-based or on-premises—for printing companies and related industries. We leverage decades of experience, extensive expertise, and a profound understanding of the industry to provide optimal support to our customers and guide them through their digital transformation.

What’s the news about new products/services?

Tessitura, through its platform Odeon, offers comprehensive networking and workflow solutions tailored for the printing industry. Its primary aim is to integrate machines and software across various generations and manufacturers into a unified system. This facilitates seamless communication and automation across all components of a print shop, from analog to digital, enabling centralized control and management.

What are the ranges of products/services?

Tessitura offers following systems:

  1. Odeon Platform: A hub for connecting printing and processing systems via a standardized communication protocol called Odeon Talk. This “universal translator” ensures interoperability and supports both internal operations and external market expansion, helping businesses explore new print markets and customer groups.
  2. “Embrace Various Workflows” Principle: A strategy to address the diverse requirements of different printing systems and production environments. It ensures optimized workflows, enabling businesses to adapt flexibly to new technologies and market demands.
  3. Integration of Legacy and Modern Systems: By bridging gaps between analog and digital systems, Tessitura enhances efficiency and enables access to new production capabilities and business opportunities.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

Printing and media industries with focus on transformation

What can you tell us about market trends?

The printing industry is increasingly embracing networking and automation, driven by the integration of IoT technologies and cloud-based solutions to optimize production processes.

Flexibility through cross-vendor systems is another significant trend, as heterogeneous machine parks require solutions like Odeon to seamlessly connect all systems. Additionally, sustainability and resource optimization are becoming essential, enabling more environmentally friendly production through reduced waste and more efficient workflows. Finally, the demand for personalization and mass customization is rising, with customer-specific print products made possible by real-time data analysis and intelligent workflows.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

The key word here is the possibility of cross-manufacturer networking. The Odeon platform is the central, cloud-based architecture that connects data across all machine generations – from classic analog machines to modern digital systems. It enables cross-manufacturer networking, real-time data analysis and the optimization of production processes.

The Connect Box makes it possible to integrate analog machines into digital workflows. This IoT solution records performance data and connects even older machines with modern management systems (MIS/ERP).

The worker principle: Individual software interfaces for different manufacturers of machines and software enable a standardized communication protocol within the platform. The worker principle thus forms the backbone of intelligent networking in print shops and ensures that all machines communicate efficiently and production data is provided in real time. This creates the basis for a modern, automated smart factory.

What estimations do you have for the rest of 2024?

Tessitura GmbH has defined clear strategic goals for 2024 and 2025 in order to accelerate its growth, expand its market presence and drive forward technological innovations.

In 2024, the focus will be on tapping into new customer groups and further scaling the business. Tessitura is concentrating on targeting printing companies that are increasingly focusing on increasing efficiency and automation. At the same time, the customer base and revenue are to be sustainably expanded through increased marketing of the SaaS license model and performance-based billing models. Another focus is the further technological development of the Odeon platform with new functions for process optimization and the integration of heterogeneous machine parks. Participation in leading industry events such as Drupa 2024 and an intensified content strategy will further strengthen Tessitura’s market presence and visibility. In addition, strategic partnerships with system providers and technology suppliers will extend the reach and create new opportunities for system integration.

In 2025, Tessitura’s goal is to achieve market leadership in the area of cross-manufacturer networking. The Odeon platform will be further expanded and established as the industry standard for the integration of machines and systems. The implementation of numerous customer and Odeon-Ready projects is at the heart of this.
