EMERGENCY & EVACUATION LIGHTING SYSTEMS: TM TECHNOLOGIE

TM TECHNOLOGIE Sp. z o.o., a Polish manufacturer of emergency lighting, evacuation fixtures, and central battery systems, develops specialized safety infrastructure for building and tunnel applications across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Marek Ryba, Chief Operating Officer-Proxy at TM TECHNOLOGIE, details the company’s ecodesign approach, which incorporates optimized charging systems and high-efficiency LiFePO4 battery technology.

He also shares insights on DALI2 remote monitoring, UX/UI software integration for facility managers, and construction market trends for H2 2026.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Marek Ryba: TM TECHNOLOGIE Sp. z o.o. is a leading Polish manufacturer of emergency and evacuation lighting fixtures, monitoring systems and emergency power supplies. For over two decades, TM TECHNOLOGIE’s emergency lighting products have been recognised in markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company’s head office and production plant are located in Morawica, adjacent to Kraków Airport. TM TECHNOLOGIE has its own research and development department, employing over 20 highly qualified engineers, whilst the organisation as a whole employs a total of over 220 specialist staff across all fields.

What are the company’s main areas of activity?

M.R: TM TECHNOLOGIE’s main areas of activity:

  • manufacture of emergency and evacuation lighting fixtures
  • manufacture of central battery systems for powering emergency lighting installations
  • manufacture of monitoring and control systems for emergency lighting installations [DATA/DALI2]
  • manufacture of tunnel luminaires for emergency lighting
  • training on regulatory requirements [TM AKADEMIA]
  • design, consultancy and technical support during the design process for industry professionals – architects, electrical designers, lighting designers, civil engineers and fire safety engineers

What’s new in terms of products and services?

M.R: TM TECHNOLOGIE, committed to growth, focuses on energy efficiency and environmental protection. In the products we manufacture, we apply the ‘ecodesign’ philosophy by using optimised charging systems that work in conjunction with high-efficiency LiFePO4 battery packs. We complement all this with an emergency lighting management system to ensure the optimal use of the solutions we produce.

What is the product/service ranges?

M.R: The range of products manufactured by TM TECHNOLOGIE can be divided into two segments. The first segment comprises emergency lighting fittings for indicating evacuation routes, as well as emergency lighting fittings for illuminating escape routes and locations with fire-fighting equipment, including a dedicated product line for tunnels. The second segment comprises what is broadly referred to as a system, which includes: central battery systems providing emergency power for emergency lighting fittings, as well as systems for the remote monitoring and testing of emergency lighting fittings.

What is the current situation in the market in which you operate?

M.R: The situation in the markets served by TM TECHNOLOGIE is volatile and depends on many factors – including the global economy, which is influenced by geopolitics. Dynamic changes in supply chains and multifaceted local crises are being felt across all economic sectors. The market segment served by TM TECHNOLOGIE is sensitive to such factors, and its volatility is therefore noticeable.

What can you tell us about market trends?

M.R: Market trends in the emergency lighting sector are closely linked to the state of the construction industry. We are seeing a downward trend in the global economy. Nevertheless, there are isolated areas within the regions we serve where the decline is less pronounced than the generally published average figures.

What are the most innovative products/services being launched on the market?

M.R: In today’s world, it is very difficult to define innovation unequivocally. From the very beginning, TM TECHNOLOGIE has focused its activities on the development of systems that support human work. Software tailored to the customer’s needs for operating central battery systems, monitoring systems and emergency lighting management features a high standard of UX/UI, thereby enabling easy and rapid access to the interfaces’ functionalities.

What are your forecasts for the second half of 2026?

M.R: According to many indicators, the second half of the year should see a slight upturn compared with the first half – and that sounds very optimistic. Nevertheless, given the sector’s vulnerability to various external factors, a change in this trend is also to be expected.
