Interview with Celia Herzog, CMO at Herzog.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Celia Herzog: herzog systems ag is a Swiss company that has been developing shut-off nozzles for the plastics injection molding industry for more than 50 years.

Most people are not familiar with herzog systems ag. However, they come into contact with products manufactured using our technology every day – from packaging and consumer goods to technical plastic components. Our nozzles are rarely visible, but they make an important contribution to the production of many products used in everyday life.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

C.H: Our core competence lies in the development, design and manufacturing of shut-off nozzles and accessories for injection molding applications. We work closely with machine manufacturers, mold makers and processors.

Our goal is to provide solutions that meet the requirements of modern injection molding processes – from high-volume packaging applications to demanding technical components.

What’s the news about new products/services?

C.H: The requirements for injection molding processes are constantly evolving. Accordingly, we continuously develop and improve our products.

Current areas of focus include wear resistance, ease of maintenance and the processing of increasingly demanding materials.

What are the ranges of products/services?

C.H: Our portfolio includes shut-off nozzles for a wide variety of injection molding applications, as well as complementary components and systems for plastics processing. These include process and injection valves, injectors, as well as accessories such as sensors and temperature control components.

Our offering is complemented by technical consulting and application-specific support.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

C.H: The market environment remains challenging, and investment decisions are often made with a corresponding degree of caution. At the same time, manufacturers are under increasing pressure to improve productivity, reduce material losses and reliably meet high quality requirements.

What can you tell us about market trends?

C.H: We are observing increasing demands on injection molding processes. Components are becoming more complex, the variety of materials being processed is increasing, and quality requirements continue to rise.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

C.H: Innovation in our field is often not immediately visible. Many developments concern details that can nevertheless make a significant difference for the user – whether in terms of service life, maintenance requirements or processing capabilities.

For more than 50 years, we have been working with shut-off nozzle technology. This specialization enables us to continuously develop our products and adapt them to new requirements.

What estimations do you have for the second half of 2026?

Any forecast regarding market developments in the second half of 2026 would be speculative. As a technology company, we focus not on predicting markets, but on meeting the requirements of our customers.
