Teos Energy specializes in engineering, project management, supply chain and construction activities (EPC) for solar PV plants. The company has around 25 in-house engineers (Hamburg & Köln/ DE, Porto/ PT & Izmir/ TR) and 10 freelancers in the team.
Additionally, they have considerable sub-contractor network for the on-site works. Teos Energy has completed more than 320 MW solar energy project on site and GWs of engineering studies.
Interview with Ceyhun Tankir, Business Developer at Teos Energy.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Ceyhun Tankir: Teos Energy is a young, dynamic company with an international team. Based in Hamburg, we work on projects throughout Europe and beyond. Our team consists of experienced employees from all areas of the solar industry to ideally cover all aspects of a project.
With the aim of making the energy supply more sustainable throughout Europe, we work together and with great enthusiasm to realize our projects. It is important to us that in addition to cost-effectiveness, the focus is also on the idea of sustainability. With our team spirit, we solve even the biggest problems together and have so far been able to deliver the project to all customers that they have imagined.
Additionally, we signed partnership agreement with internationally well-known energy storage systems manufacturer (former US battery giant) Exide Technologies about large scale energy storage solutions. In addition to sales of Containerized Solutions; Teos Energy will also deliver engineering, supervision, installation and commissioning services, like we’re already doing for Solar PV systems. Please see some information about Exide Technologies and solutions below.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
C.T: AS an EPC company we are following all the latest technological advancements and product improvements very closely. I can give short review of the market regarding that. The power capacity of string inverters is keep increasing, which is the same case for solar modules as well. This is increasing the efficiency of solar parks significantly and makes it even more lucrative to invest in solar energy. This is supported further by the decreasing solar module prices. This situation is making solar energy the cheapest, cleanest, and most viable option for energy generation.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
C.T: Traditionally solar energy market was led by ground mounted and rooftop projects. Recently more and more niche segments within the solar energy market have been developed. Now we can build solar parks on landfill areas, car parking spots, on water and on farms while continuing the farming process. As Teos Energy we have begun our first projects with such methods as well.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
C.T: Our core market is Germany, but we are operating whole Europe wide. German solar market is currently booming. Increased energy prices and strong government incentives led many companies to seek alternative sources of electricity generation. The renewable energy plans of German government are very ambitious.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
C.T: Due to increasing electricity prices around the globe and goals of lowering carbon offprint from many governments and the UN, investments on renewable energy are trending. Solar energy is the most preferred method amongst the renewable energy sources. Besides being the cheapest method, the fact that it can be implemented both for small scale residential buildings as well as to large scale industrial buildings and to large fields, it is a very flexible source of electricity.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
C.T: Using landfill sites for solar parks are a very innovative method of generating renewable energy. As these sites can’t be used for any other type of activity, making use of their large open spaces for clean energy is an important advantage. As Teos Energy we are proud to lead this branch of solar energy in Germany.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?
C.T: Our current projects are consisting of rooftops, landfills, ground mounted and carport solar parks. For the next year we will mainly be focusing on large scale ground mounted solar parks. Within 2023 we will have a new project for medium-/high voltage products, which the German market currently has a huge production deficit for.
