SEVEN SENSOR POSITIONS ITSELF AS THE REFERENCE FOR PV METEOROLOGICAL MONITORING FROM UTILITY-SCALE TO C&I

EVEN Sensor Solutions provides complete PV weather stations and meteorological sensors (irradiance, pyranometers, albedometers, soiling, temperature, wind and more) for utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) plants. SEVEN sensors integrate seamlessly with leading inverters, dataloggers and SCADA systems via Modbus, analog outputs and SunSpec, delivering accurate, IEC-aligned data for reliable performance monitoring.

Interview with Atiye Beyza Cikmaz, Sales & Marketing Department & Ouijdane Benamar, Marketing Manager at SEVEN Sensor Solutions.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Atiye Beyza Cikmaz & Ouijdane Benamar: SEVEN Sensor Solutions is the trade mark of ArGesim Teknoloji, located in Corum Industrial Zone in Türkiye and specialized in manufacturing high-quality meteorological sensors and complete measuring & monitoring systems for solar PV plants.

SEVEN Sensor weather stations are compatible with many well-known datalogger brands, such as Huawei, SMA, Solarlog, Goodwe, Solis, Solplanet and SolarEdge… Our products are used in more than 126 countries from Japan to the USA and from Sweden to South Africa, and we support our customers with remote installation assistance and online engineering services.

As part of our activities, we manufacture meteorological sensors and weather stations used in various fields, primarily in the PV sector. The sensors and weather stations we produce are used to calculate the performance ratio of solar power plants. Thus, our slogan is if you don’t measure it, you can’t know it…

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

A.B.C & O.B: SEVEN Sensor is a company that primarily manufactures meteorological and environmental measurement sensors for the performance monitoring needs of solar power plants (PV). Our product portfolio includes sensors for monitoring parameters that directly affect plant efficiency, such as irradiance, ambient and module temperature, wind speed and direction, humidity, precipitation, snow, and soiling.

What’s the news about new products/services?

A.B.C & O.B: Our R&D team continuously pursues new innovations to adapt to emerging technologies, maintain our competitive advantage, and develop high-quality, user-friendly, customer-oriented, and highly functional sensors.

As our latest new sensor, we can highlight our Self Cleaning Irradiance Sensor. According to IEC 61724-1:2021, within the scope of Class A monitoring, it is necessary to reduce the soiling effect on irradiance sensors and to perform cleaning at least weekly for typical sensors and installations. The Self Cleaning Irradiance Sensor has been designed in line with these requirements and helps reduce the need for manual cleaning, thereby lowering site visits and labor requirements.

The cleaning system of the Self Cleaning Irradiance Sensor operates by default once per day at a user-defined time via the SEVEN Configuration Tool (GUI). If desired, three different times can be configured in the GUI, increasing the number of daily cleanings up to three.

Additionally, the portable soiling sensor, thermopile pyranometer, and cloud sensor are among our new products. SEVEN Sensor’s Portable Soiling Sensor enables cleaning companies to quickly measure on-site soiling levels on solar panels in PV power plants and determine cleaning needs in real time. Equipped with cutting-edge thermopile detector and diffuser technology, the SEVEN thermopile pyranometer maximizes measurement accuracy with its fast response, spectrally flat, low zero-deviation, and high stability. Lastly, SEVEN Cloud Sensor is a purpose-built device designed to measure sky cloud coverage ratios for commercial and industrial photovoltaic (PV) facilities.

What are the ranges of products/services?

A.B.C & O.B: SEVEN Sensor Solutions provides complete PV weather stations and meteorological sensors. Our product range includes irradiance sensors, wind speed sensors, wind direction sensors, ambient temperature sensors, module temperature sensors, relative humidity sensors, cloud sensors, soiling sensors, albedometers, pyranometers, snow sensors, and rain gauge sensors.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

A.B.C & O.B: The Meteorological Sensors Market was valued at 13.01 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 9.28% from 2026 to 2033, reaching an estimated 26.47 billion by 2033. This expansion is fueled by rising demand across industrial, commercial, and technology-driven applications, alongside continuous innovation, broadening use cases, and increasing investments across major end-use sectors.

As SEVEN Sensor Solutions, we can see this growth reflected in our steadily increasing quantity of sales each year. For example, the number of sensors we sold in 2023 was around 6k sensors, while in 2025 this number exceeded 10k sensors.

What can you tell us about market trends?

A.B.C & O.B: At the local level and specifically for the solar energy market in Türkiye, we can say that the solar energy sector has made significant progress in recent years, taking major steps toward increasing domestic manufacturing capacity. The local industry has a strong infrastructure in solar energy, especially in the production of panels and mounting equipment. In cell production, many companies have only recently started manufacturing, and investments in this area are expected to continue increasing in the coming period.

With the growing solar systems market, the need for meteorological sensors is also experiencing steady growth, driven by the increasing demand for accurate weather forecasting, climate change monitoring, and real-time environmental data. The market is expected to continue growing, particularly in North America, Europe, and the fast-expanding Asia-Pacific region.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

A.B.C & O.B: I can talk about three innovative sensors that we have launched on the market.

Portable Soiling Sensor: It is an innovative product developed by SEVEN Sensor for measuring on-site dust levels on solar panels in photovoltaic power plants.

Snow Sensor: SEVEN Snow Sensor is designed to measure the loss in energy production caused by snowfall on photovoltaic modules. Suitable for both ground and rooftop projects, the snow sensor notifies the user of production losses due to snowfall. If the snow rate read from the sensor is 10%, it means that there is 10% energy loss in the facility.

Cloud Sensor: SEVEN Cloud Sensor is a specialized sensor developed to measure the cloud coverage ratio in the sky for use in commercial and industrial photovoltaic (PV) facilities. By detecting the proportion of cloud cover, it enables analysis on whether the solar panels should remain in a fixed position or be adjusted according to the sun’s position. This allows users to take the necessary actions based on cloudiness levels to improve energy efficiency.

What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2026?

A.B.C & O.B: We aim to reach more customers in more countries and expect to increase our sales volume even further compared to last year.
