NETIO is a Czech company based in Prague, specializing in smart power management solutions. The company designs and manufactures products like intelligent power sockets, power distribution units (PDUs) and services as NETIO Cloud.
NETIO PDU products enable customers remote power management control over LAN or Wi-Fi. NETIO PDUs can be controlled from 3rd party systems via many Open API protocols as MQTT, HTTP(s)-JSON, SNMP, Modbus/TCP and others.
NETIO PDUs can be used inside NETIO ecosystem (WEB interface, Cloud, Mobile App), but also integrated with AV / IT systems.
What are the main areas of activity of the company?
NETIO: A typical NETIO customer is a System Integrator in AV / Multimedia solutions, Video walls, Digital Signage or in IT departments. Our products can be found in different installations. Simple wherever a smart power management is required, i.e. Museums, Cinemas, Showrooms, Meeting rooms or ATMs. The key value for NETIO customers is to provide manual / automatic rebooting or power management to their systems.
- Remote Restarting
- Powering system Up/Down (sequence)
- System activity remote monitoring and automation
- Manual / Autonomous power watchdog
- System remote restart
- Temperature monitoring (thermostat)
- Electrical metering / Analyses and other
What’s the news about new products/services?
NETIO: This year was a major milestone for NETIO products as company with the opening of our U.S. office in Florida and the hiring of a local team. To better serve the U.S. market, NETIO products will now feature a variant with NEMA 5-15 sockets, aligning with local standards. The initial response from the market has been very positive, and we are optimistic that U.S. customers will come to view NETIO as a reliable partner, offering a distinct and valuable product experience.
As next, we have been adding additional products into NETIO family:
- PowerPDU with Type-F (Schuko) sockets
To strengthen our activity at EU market we decided to introduce 8 outputs fully metered/ non-metered PDU version equipped by Type-F (Schuko) socket with all capabilities known from other NETIO products.
- PDU with PowerConn socket output
We have got several requests from the market about PowerConn solution. By adding that product variant into our portfolio, we will able expand our activity in field of: Live stages, studio, sounds systems, broadcasting & LED walls.
- T1 Sensor
Temperature sensor has been added to NETIO accessories. This gives customer the ability to measure temperature, integrate the reading into APIs or switch defined output(s) if temperature is too low/ high.
What are the ranges of products/services?
NETIO: As NETIO became a global company, we can offer the NETIO PDU with same features to customers from Germany, Hong Kong, Korea to California.
Restart device powered from the NETIO PDU output within 20 seconds from your mobile phone anywhere you are.
- EU produced smart PDUs with respect to high security.
- Manual / Autonomous restating / power cycle.
- Your software integrated with NETIO API can control power all over the world.
- Global certified (CE, UL, UCLA,..) PDU products operates in 100 – 240V up to 16A per output.
- PDUs for several segments (power strip, 19” montage, FLAT PDUs, DIN rail)
- Several types with 1 to 8 outputs (metered / not metered)
What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
NETIO: Historically, smart Power Distribution Units (PDUs) has been considered as “nice to have” solution in complex system with low budget allocation within a project. This approach has changed dramatically. Smart PDU became strong part of project. Accordingly, we see market is experiencing robust growth, primarily driven by the increasing demand for data centre and the expansion of digital infrastructure across sectors like IT, telecommunications, and healthcare.
Regionally, US & Asia-Pacific leads the market growth due to substantial investments in data centre infrastructure. It is closely followed by EU especially with AV segment. We see demand and grows in regions as Latin America, Nigeria and middle East.
What can you tell us about market trends?
NETIO: I would say, market is influenced by the increasing demands for data management and digital transformation across various sectors. Here are the key trends we see as shaping the PDU market in future:
- Easy to use, but with respect to security
The system must be simple to install, but it should guide system integrator to respect security issues for PDU.
- Sensors integration with PDU
Customers want to analyse what’s going on in their remote system. But not only analyse, be able to switch on/off remotely based on temperature.
- Modular and Scalable PDU Designs
We see question about from our customers There is a need for scalable solutions is driving the adoption of modular PDU designs. These allow for future expansion without the need for major infrastructure overhauls.
- Adoption of Three-Phase
There is a demand on the market. There are in high-density environments such as large data centers and industrial applications as LED walls.
Of course, we realise potential challenges for future. Especially in regards with AI Integration. There is obvious AI will play key role in future on the field of smart power management. It will enable advanced analytics and automation, allowing facilities to predict power needs, detect anomalies, and even self-adjust to optimize performance.
What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
NETIO: NETIO is more than just PDU, it’s PDU which can be used standalone, but also as part of whole Ecosystem together with NETIO Cloud, NETIO Mobile App etc..
- NETIO PDU connected to NETIO Cloud service can send you email “I am switched OFF” and later on “I am switched ON again”.
- NETIO provide Open API (protocols) and is currently supported on more than 60 systems or 3rd party software solutions.
- NETIO PDU(s) can be used with but also without NETIO Cloud.
- NETIO PDU(s) can be used with but also without Mobile App (iOS / Android).
ZCS (Zero Current Switching) is a unique feature helping customer with negative effect of inrush current. ZCS significantly improving relay lifetime especially on frequent switching. ZCS reduce probability of circuit braker tripping. ZCS/ZVS is crucial especially for LED Walls application.
NETIO Cloud – is a secure, centralized platform for managing NETIO devices remotely, allowing users to control, monitor, and automate connected devices from anywhere. It supports features such as remote power switching, energy consumption tracking, and notifications about non functional or disconnected devices.
What estimations do you have for the rest of 2024?
NETIO: As the year already hit the last quartal, we do not expect significant changes in the market for now. There is a trend showing significant growth within 2025, driven by a rising demand for efficient power management solutions across all regions.
Till end on the year, we will internally concentrate to finish development of new power management solutions pioneering the first release at ISE 2025 show in Barcelona
