KENTA BRUSHLESS MOTORS: INDUSTRY 4.0 & CUSTOM GEARMOTORS

High-torque motion control applications across biomass heating, Ho.Re.Ca. equipment, vending systems, and industrial valve automation are increasingly adopting brushless motor technology to maximize operational efficiency, reduce electromagnetic interference, and lower overall energy consumption. Integrating printed circuit boards directly into compact gearmotor assemblies enables real-time diagnostic telemetry and Industry 4.0 connectivity while avoiding spark generation in sensitive operating environments.

At the same time, rapid prototyping using digital optical profile projectors and specialized multi-material 3D printing allows mechanical component developers to shorten validation cycles and adapt custom drives to shifting market conditions.

A brief description of the company and its activities.

Kenta was founded in 1987 with a clear idea: engineering only matters when it becomes reliability you can count on. What started as a small production environment steadily evolved into a company capable of designing, building and supporting mechanical solutions for a wide range of industrial applications. Over the years, Kenta has grown through method, combining technical expertise, precision manufacturing and a strong sense of responsibility toward those who rely on its products.

Today, the company continues to build on that same foundation: clarity in design, consistency in production and commitment in every delivery. Kenta’s identity is shaped by real experience, made of finetuned processes, components refined over time and long-standing partnerships built on trust. This is how Kenta has become a solid presence in the field of gearmotors and automation components: by turning mechanical know-how into a dependable, everyday promise.

What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Kenta develops and manufactures gearmotors and mechanical components engineered for durability, precision and consistent performance, serving a wide range of industrial sectors, providing motion solutions built to perform reliably in different applications. Every piece is produced through rigorous processes, continuous testing and strict quality standards. From customized solutions to limited series, we combine engineering skill with fast, flexible production to meet the needs of diverse industrial environments. Refined processes, components perfected over time and long-standing partnerships built on trust have turned Kenta’s mechanical know-how into a daily promise of reliability.

What’s the news about new products/services?

In an increasingly digitalized world, we believe that brushless motors represent the future across all applications developed by Kenta. For this reason, our efforts are focused on designing new and innovative solutions made possible by this technology. Compared to traditional motors, the brushless technology offers numerous technical and operational advantages, while also representing an eco-friendly alternative: high power density with low energy consumption and extended service life thanks to optimized efficiency; digital integration with printed circuit boards – Industry 4.0 –, enabling full control and remote diagnostics; reduced electromagnetic interference and no possibility of generating sparks, resulting in easier compliance with safety certifications.

What are the ranges of products/services?

Our products adapt to different mechanical environments, ensuring durability and seamless integration across industries. The main markets we supply are: Biomass, Ho.Re.Ca. – including cooking machines, coffee machines, ice-makers, slush & ice-cream machines –, Vending machines and Valve Automation for industrial, civil and agricultural purposes, as well as different custom-made industrial applications.

What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

The market currently shows remarkable resilience, supported by technological investments and digitalization, but it is also accompanied by strong geopolitical, technological, and energy-related tensions that deeply influence economic dynamics. Growth remains positive in several sectors – technology, industrial automation and renewable energy – while more traditional industries show signs of slowdown. International tensions and energy price volatility contribute to a more complex and less predictable economic environment, representing the most significant risk factors.

What can you tell us about market trends?

Generally, the European market trend is increasingly influenced by the impact of Chinese dumping, which is becoming one of the most critical factors for the continent’s industrial stability. Chinese exports, supported by an extremely extensive system of public subsidies, are putting significant pressure on European companies that operate with higher costs, stricter environmental regulations, and far more limited access to state support. The result is a structural distortion of the market: prices fall not because of greater efficiency or innovation, but due to subsidized supply that does not reflect real production costs. Chinese dumping creates a condition that may become dangerous in the medium term: if Europe loses production capacity in strategic sectors, it becomes more exposed to external shocks and less able to control its own industrial supply chains. In the medium period, the sustainability of this dynamic is uncertain even for China, because a model based on overproduction and forced export cannot be sustained indefinitely.

What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

Among the most interesting innovations introduced by Kenta, beyond the technological enhancement of production lines and the new products designed for modern applications, one of the most significant is the design and prototyping process for gearmotors and all related components and accessories. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery that allows us to oversee every stage of product development: from design — supported by next-generation specialized software and digital optical profile projectors — to prototyping, carried out using a special 3D printer compatible with a wide range of materials.

What estimations do you have for the second half of 2026?

The current global situation creates a climate of uncertainty in which it is not possible to make reliable forecasts for the second half of 2026. However, while no recovery is expected for some declining sectors, others remain stable or are experiencing growth supported by technological innovation, digital transformation and sustained investment flows, and we expect that this positive trend will continue in the coming months. One of the most promising sectors is industrial automation, which is experiencing a phase of structural acceleration. Companies across all industries are investing in automated systems to offset rising energy costs and to meet increasing demands for higher quality and traceability, made possible through digitalization and the integration of advanced control systems.
